Slavery in the USA.

You can be made a slave in the United States. Here's how. The U.S. Constitution specifically ALLOWS slavery:

"Article XIII (Amendment 13)

Neither slavery nor involuntary servitude, except as a punishment for crime whereof the party shall have been duly convicted, shall exist within the United States, or any place subject to their jurisdiction. Congress shall have power to enforce this article by appropriate legislation."

Got that? "except as a punishment for crime..." which means you can be LEGALLY made into a slave upon conviction of a crime. No limitation is made as to what crime. Theoretically, once convicted of a crime you can be bought and sold, whipped to death and otherwise treated as any slave has been treated throughout history.
