Quoting: Anne O'Mally Check this thread out... Thread: JDP |

I guess you could classify them as U.F.O.'s but it would be nice to be more accurate. I am sure some can be written off as various man made crafts but at times it would seem that some move at such tremendous speeds... Or so it would seem. |

Quoting: Anne O'Mally Check this thread out... Thread: JDP heh...i have seen that thread. this wasn't slow though, it appeared out of nowhere and was FAST, shoting downwards, then it exploded with a red light and disappeared. i mean it was way high up so obviously it wasn't like a huge explosion from my perspective, but it was DEFINITELY red, like a brilliant red red, at the core when it flashed and went out. now i want to go sit on the back porch all night. :P worth my weight in squirrels. |

Anne O'Mally (OP) User ID: 8565311 United States 06/23/2012 02:50 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | as some of you know, i am skeptical of ufo's, and don't fear them. but this was definitely not a shooting star. i have seen a lot of those. the red flash was tell-tale that this was something else. did not look like a meteor or asteroid. i might think it was military cause that's how i do, but it appeared out of nowhere and was faster than the orbs i have seen and know to be military. much faster, and higher up. worth my weight in squirrels. |

Anne O'Mally (OP) User ID: 8565311 United States 06/23/2012 02:53 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Sounds like a meteorite ... the red being the high heat as it went through the multi-layers of the atmospheres ... and then disintegrating quickly at the last. Quoting: OnTheFence hmmmm. i thought that too. would a meteorite appear out of nowhere and shoot down like that? there was enough of a break in the fog i saw the whole thing. like a shooting star only much brighter. i thought meteors had like, tails and trails and were generally sort of orangeish...i mean yeah i watch the vids. ;) Last Edited by Anne O'Mally on 06/23/2012 02:54 AM worth my weight in squirrels. |

Anne O'Mally (OP) User ID: 8565311 United States 06/23/2012 03:05 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | honestly i'm all about meteor doom, so, going with that. just googled image searched meteors and this didn't have a red tail or any red in it at all until it flashed out. and the red i saw was nothing like the color in the pics. went back out just now and the fog is socked in pretty good, big black line of it over san fran. here it's lit up with city lights. Anne O'Mally (OP) User ID: 8565311 United States 06/23/2012 03:28 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Dude, I gotta start watching the sky -- I am right next to Oakland! We did hear a very large boom earlier, but I have no idea what caused it (probably an m80 or some such thing) Quoting: Anonymous Coward 17672801 oh yeah, i have been hearing those stupid booms all day, every night, UGH. they're going off pretty close to me. i tend to think that if TSHTF here, i'd never have a freaking clue due to all the gunshots, firecrackers, people freaking out, sirens, fire trucks, ambulances...i'm serious, it's so constant. oh and i can never tell if there's a sonic boom from jets or planes taking off, they go by close here, sometimes no sound but one day i heard it and looked out the window and saw a fighter jet. hillbilly User ID: 1516887 United States 06/23/2012 03:34 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Wonder which possible elements at the object's core would emit a bright red upon ignition? Atmospheric refraction a color factor maybe? Water is the only drink for a wise man. Call me a pot but heat me not.-Putin Silence is where God speaks. Atmospheric refraction a color factor maybe? Quoting: hillbilly anything is possible when you don't know shit about it, right? you're way ahead of me. all i can say is, the red flash was INSIDE a white flash (ignition i guess you'd say), like it exploded white and the red flashed inside that, but the red and white were separate. feel like a dumbass trying to explain it, hope i'm doing ok. like an egg (sorry) the yolk would be the red flash, with a distinct white flash surrounding it. ooo that was bad i know but i hope it worked. in other words, didn't seem like a refraction. that was why i wasn't sure about it being a meteor.
