I'm the person who started this thread and no, I didn't recommend the video just prior to this post, but now that I've watched it (and listened), the sound is basically the same. I wish that person had said exactly where he was when he recorded it.

I don't think it's the Clearwater Air Park that he's near, although that is what is near my house.

I hear this all the time, My wife and I live in the Dunedin Area and we cannot explain it. Same description, Immense rocket or jet engine sound that never goes anywhere. just a low rumble. It's quite remarkable really, and after seeing this thread, i'm ready to find out more.

We hear the same thing in Seattle, the nearest air field is Boeing about 20 miles away. It seems like it's coming from the ground.

I asked a good friend of mine that is a scientist and is currently trying to get a job with nasa (the only guy that I know that may help get answers) and he said...

"Meteorological phenomena. Could be up/downdrafts buffeting.
And then it creates some noise from resonating the air around it. I hear it occasionally myself."

Hearing it prominently at the moment in AZ.

Really intensified today when the sun came up over the horizon.

Nearest airport is 100 miles away.

While that's an explanation for some noises that people hear, the one we hear with the jet engine hum is not a natural phenomenon, as it turns on and turns off just like you would shut off an engine noise. That is not buffeting wind or anything else.

Maybe a ground engine of some kind? Long ago there were engines you kept in the ground as a power supply, made a lot of noise but were cheap energy sources. Some used car or jet engines. Needless to say the electric company doesn't want you to know about these things. A big one of those would be a culprit maybe.

There is a concrete recycling business not far from here. They have a concrete crushing machine. I wondered once if the noise might possibly be from that, but have discarded that idea.

Last night around midnight my roomate and I heard this rumble that has been mentioned from the sky. It was loud constant and did not seem to be travelling since there was no discernible doppler effect. I am not sure when it started but it only went on for a few minutes before it abruptly stopped. It sounded like a constant reverberating of thunder or a very low flying jet that was not moving. It was a constantly balanced undeviating rumble sound emiting from what seemed to be a single stationary source somewhere east south east of drew and 19.

For anyone who wants to know what the rumbling sound sounds like, watch Shark Tank (on ABC, Channel 11 in North Pinellas County, Florida). It's on from 8:00 - 10:00 PM, Friday nights. If you have digital cable, you can "look back" and access it for 72 hours after it airs. Sometimes, before and after commercials, they have the rumbling sound over the Shark Tank "logo."

Live in the area, and have saw more blackhawks this year alone than i have saw in the last 20 years, so wonder what is up. I did not hear the noise last night, but oddly enough was having this weird dream at the same time that was about some weird towery looking object object in the sky that was shooting down military planes, and basically in the dream there was a secret war going on behind the scenes, been thinking about it all day, and it just popped into my head after reading the HAARP posts, maybe that was what my dream was about, who knows.

Re: Rumbling noise in sky around 2am last night, Clearwater, FL
Has anyone discovered what the noise is?

It has been on and off all night (June 23rd, 2013). It has to be man made. The noise is too strict, to rhythmic and to be completely honest; frightens the hell out of me.

I've heard it several times before tonight and shrugged it off as Clearwater airport doing engine run ups (according to airport documentation, no restrictions on engine run ups are in place). However, the more I hear it, the more I believe it has to be something else.

I work right next to Clearwater airport (literally have planes flying a few hundred feet over my head) and never hear anything like this. I even given thought to the atmospheric reverb theory ( the right night and the sound is amplified, altered and carried for miles) but even that doesn't explain the sheer size of the sound. It's all encompassing.

If I let my imagination run wild, I almost would say that it sounds like a massive (and I mean ridiculously massive) jet engine being fired up in pulses as if to correct some form of planetary shift. I'm not a conspiracy nut; but, wouldn't someone have been able to find some form of explanation by this point?

I'm going to have to start keeping a journal of when, what type and lengths of these noises. I say "noises" because I've heard other "engine" style noises the last few times I've heard it.

Re: Rumbling noise in sky around 2am last night, Clearwater, FL
Thank you for posting after hearing the noises yesterday. I woke up in the middle of the night last night and heard the rumbling louder than ever before. I turned off the fan that I run at night that's supposed to drown out any noise that might wake me up, and I opened up my sliding glass door to investigate. I, too, heard additional noises besides the loud rumbling. I live about seven houses from the intersection of Sunset Point and Keene. The additional noises sounded like heavy traffic that you would hear going through that intersection if it was raining and the roads were wet. Of course, there was no traffic because it was 3:30 in the morning and it wasn't raining!

I had lain in bed a long time, listening to the rumbling before I got up, so I wasn't able to listen to all of that additional noise for more than a few minutes. I didn't hear it until I was already "outside," or I might have a better description of it. The rumbling stopped at exactly 3:49 AM. Later, it started up again, at just before 4:00 AM, but not as loud.

Please contact B McGuire who left his email address in a previous post, because he is forming a group of people who want to get to the bottom of this.

How about if some of us meet at the McDonalds that is near your house sometime soon to compare notes?

Re: Rumbling noise in sky around 2am last night, Clearwater, FL
I heard this sound tonight around 2am as well. I am also in Clearwater, FL near Sunset Point Rd.

I freaked out and looked out the window in fear of a tornado. Almost ran upstairs to get my daughter and bring her down into bathroom!!! I was especially concerned because it was such an unusual noise & there was some crazy stuff happening in the skies earlier this evening (clouds & lightning, just lighting up the sky from all over, non stop) plus there have been a few recent reports of tornadoes in the St Pete area. However, it was strange tonight because the noise happened long after the storming had passed.

When I googled it, I found these threads, but also I found this:

Re: Rumbling noise in sky around 2am last night, Clearwater, FL
I live in Dunedin, FL and my husband and I have been hearing the rumbling noise for well over a year. I heard it again starting last night and it has continued off and on this past evening and into the wee hours this morning. We have heard the low rumbling noise (like a diesel truck) mainly in the evenings and early morning hours, but we have also heard it during the day as well. I have periodically searched the web to find out about this strange sound and have found that this is a world wide event. I also downloaded a research paper on the subject.

Journal of Scientific Exploration. Vol. 18. No). 4. pp. 571—595. 2(5)4 0892-3310/04
The Hum: An Anomalous Sound Heard Around the World
DAVID DEMING
College of (Neurosciences, University of Oklahoma, 100 East Boyd Street.
Room 7)0, Norman, OK 73019
e—mail: ddeming @ou.edu

The paper concluded: "The hypothetical source that can be best correlated in time and space with Hum reports is the TACAMO aircraft operated by the US Navy for purposes of submarine communications."

If the paper is correct the rumble is not acoustic, but a low-frequency microwave transmission. I just wish that it would stop. Sometimes I can block the sound out with our clunky window air conditioner, but not always. UGH!tomato

June 30, 2013 at 4 in the morning. Bay Cove Apts off of U.S. 19 close to you guys at Belcher. This is the second time I've heard this and I've been researching and waiting for this to happen again since last week. Even saw one of my neighbors down the ways from my apt outside was looking up at the sky. Why is it only a select few of us hear and really notice this noise? Airport, very likely but....eh. Magnetic storm, I sure wouldn't doubt it. HAARP, I wonder. I got a fan running and the dryer running and I thought I just heard it again but not sure. I searched the sky, even walked down to the shore a bit. Nothing... but sudden cloud cover outta nowhere. Next time, I'm recording a video and posting it here. It'll be my third time hearing this. Though last time it was louder and at 1:50am.

Next time I plan on recording it and I hope I am at the shoreline behind the apartments next time. Maybe I can catch some lights or movement in the sky.

Airport, it's a possibility but I really don't believe that's it. Electromagnetic storm, I know they're happening but are they really making those noises? HAARP, it's crazy but it does sound like experiments being shot up into the ionosphere which is making that jet engine noise. Electromagnetic waves because that noise always has a hint of buzzing. And to be done at night, people are less likely to care shunning it off as an airplane, weather, train, or traffic. If anyone wants to help me on trying to figure this thing out by tons of web research, my name is Kristen and it'd be much appreciated. I'm documenting dates, lengths of time, and how loud it is. Even the direction which hasn't changed. Worldwide sound phenomenon? This is incredibly fascinating.

Re: Rumbling noise in sky around 2am last night, Clearwater, FL
I, along with about 30 people all heard this noise last night while hanging out in the parking lot of the bar that we frequent after closing near Gulf to Bay. It was nearly 4AM and we began to feel the ground shake, followed by the same noise that everyone is hearing. It was enough for EVERYONE to stop conversing and look to the sky wondering the source. I drove by the airport after the third or fourth time hearing it and did not hear it again and saw no activity at PIE.

I'm stumped. It sure sounds man-made and if it was coming from MacDill, I think we would have people in South Tampa hearing it, as well.

In addition to this, I was on Bayshore Blvd. (Safety Harbor), waiting to turn left on to the Courtney Campbell and heard it once more. This was probably around 1PM today, June 30th, 2013.

I love browsing this forum because I think most of you are nuts, but whatever is producing this sound must be absolutely giant in size, power or whatever.

I'm in Oldsmar tonight and will let anyone know if I hear it again.
