the gathering they had in west virginia was a mile and a half away from the yearly white supremacist campout.

i havent seen a person color around here in 20 years

I kinda wanted to go to one to see what it's all about, but if its just a bunch of naked women smoking pot, I'll pass. If I was younger the adventure might be fun. What do they need that many police for? Lets get up there and arrest those felon naked people showing off there boobs in the forest. Bring in the swat, maybe national gaurd. FFS

BULLSHIT.......I walked in the four miles to where they had their gathering in the Nordhouse Dunes and the site was cleaned up very well

there is thousands up there now setting up the camp sights
knocking down thorns etc

umm ok whatever this is my backyard there is 5 springs on top of that mountain i would lay out of school and hunt there i know every inch of that mountain sky wa mo cherokee for sky water mountain

it's pretty intense. i did three weeks at the CALM, center for alternative living medicine, i had a radio and stuff and was one of the responders. there are some truly screwed up people that go...but the organisers do have their shit together and yes, clean-up is a major endeavour, keeping people hygienic is next to impossible, and the animal neglect is thru the roof.

it is EXCELLENT training ground for a SHTF scenario. some world renowned herbalists, survivalists, etc. come and do free trainings. you get to see a lot of people lose their shit, and a lot of people pull it together.

and the cops are full on gestapo. for them, it's round-up time. they already have lists of who they are going after, and pictures. if you look up at helicopters, your picture is taken and they match it into their database.

honestly, it's a REALLY hardcore SHTF scenario training.

I went to the Rainbow fest in Ocala Florida in the late 90's, I had my food stolen, my tent trashed by a bunch of dirty stinky mother fuckers, guys walking around wearing skirts, fucking dirty stray mongrels every where. Trust me, you are not missing anything.

think god i am a local but now they brought national attentions to my bug out plan

so the 2500 cops are in training been seeing alot of washington state game wardens here

anyways heading up there in a few hours will take pictures but the event doesnt start till july 1st till the 7th

just think of it as training. when SHTF, yes, people are going to have to watch their stuff, watch out for cops, know how to take care of themselves and do off grid medicine.

i'm an herbalist so it taught me a lot about just getting into neutral mode and helping people.

BRING WATER. this gathering does not have spring access. also do not look up if helicopters are flying above you. good advice anyways.

it may not officially start until july 1, but there is a lot going on there beforehand. check into the info booth and find out if there are any good trainings you can sit in on.

i hear the ocala one is pretty ghetto. lot of oogles. i could never understand why anyone would take pride in being filthy and stupid. in colorado, i was the one who got the humane society in there to give parvo shots to all the dogs and puppies who were dying of it and not getting their vaccinations and stuff. absolute horror stories about the animal neglect. it was one of my main causes.

however, as screwed up as it can be, you did get a realistic experience of SHingTF.

I believe they found a dead body in the woods near the last one. I know some people who went to a few before and they where dirty stoner hippies. Don't get me wrong, There are good and bad hippies out there. I would rather go to burning man if i had an opportunism to go. Better organized and more free spirits to enjoy the art coulter and its not all druggies but people who get high off the experience and "the burning man" has the best experience hands down with people from all walks of life including business men who want to get away and loose the tie for a change.

burning man is through the roof expensive. never had an inclination to go. personally i really dislike rainbow gatherings but went for the trainings and field experience. honestly i cried my eyes out when i realised what i had gotten myself into. but i buckled down and did what i had signed up for, and came out of it much the wiser.

i also went to one in catemaco, mexico, much smaller, much better energy, and i did save a ladies' life so i don't regret that. :)

also, they have that many cops (and they are federal, and infractions become felony federal crimes) because that many criminals show up...a lot of them had minor infractions at the gathering the year before, didn't go to their court date and got felony bench warrants against them. it's self-perpetuating. 'have you seen this guy? he had a tail light out last year and we're looking to lock him up for 6 months.' seriously, it's that bad.

Went to a partial one that was held alongside the Survival Gathering in the Black Hills, South Dakota, 1980.

It cured me of any romantic idea I might have ever had about living in a bus or joining a commune or anything like that.

People with no teeth and - scabies - . Really bad attitudes too like, give me your money and your stuff, or if you don't you are so materialistic and evil.
