Did you ask your parents about it? How did they explain it?

Interesting but not sure what those trials were supposed to be. Some sort of programming or experimentation I guess.

Though your eyepatch memory brought back a strange memory for me. My mom would put one over one of my eyes but I think it was to stop me from doing what she called "talking to strings". I had a weird way of playing with strings as a kid, wont go into the details. My mom always used to make a big deal out of that.

I wonder, but I'm leaning to the side of experimentation for most of it. I was probably in the "will the patient noticeably keel over and die at this dose" group.

Now I'm curious, and trying to take a kitten avatar seriously while it talks of strings.

Am sorry. People used to ask if I was a military brat because we moved so much. I would end up in a new school after trials that left damage (like the eye one) I think because of the same reason any abusive parent has: to hide the signs that something had happened.

Re: Were you in any clinical trials as a kid?
When I was in third grade, which would of been in 1989, I took the regular tests all kids take. I Was new a stand out student, but something stood out on one of the tests I guess. Anyway, one day I was told I needed to go to speech class. So a teachers aid took me from class and walked me not to the speech room, but the principals office. I walked in and my mom was in there along with 2 men, one sitting at the principals desk, who seemed to be very friendly and happy to see me and another standing behind him all business like. I was told I had been selected to take part in an extended learning class because of the way I answered a question on one of the tests I took. The class would last until I was unable to solve problems. So the next day, I rode the bus after lunch with the high schoolers to what was called BOCES, that was a trade type school kids could take part in. From there, I was driven another 20 minutes to a big time college and that's when it got weird. the entire staff, which was small, we're military. There were only a few actual instructors, but they were basically just there to read our results I was not allowed to talk to any of the other kids there, wasn't allowed to take anything home with me and not allowed to speak of what I was doing there with kids at my regular school. It consisted of a lot of test. Puzzles, riddles, finding patterns in star charts, maps of oceans, cities and Forrests. It lasted every day for 4 weeks until I couldn't finish one of the puzzles in time and that was it. Never heard any more from it. It was like it never happened.

Do you remember which question it was that got you 'flagged' and what you had answered? Back in 3rd grade I remembered some standardized testing but it was multiple choice back then, around the same time frame as your story.

I remember taking a test once that you were supposed to "take until you started getting questions wrong". I also remember feeling like I was getting some wrong pretty far in because it was getting difficult, bringing it up to the lady, and her telling me to continue anyway which irritated me...after all I'd been told I could stop when I screwed up lol.

Re: Were you in any clinical trials as a kid?
I remember we had a day in school when i was about 9-10 years old when the police came to talk about what they do for us etc etc. And during that day we had to leave or fingerprints as a part of "showing us how they catch criminals". I didn't get my prints back because the police took all our prints with them. Not as invasive as yours, and not clinical trials, but still strange. Didn't think it was strange back then of course, but now i do.

So if you have kids, be very aware of what happens with them in school!
