When did you first become a conspiracy theorist? and why?
I am really interested to know what started others off down the path of exploring conspiracies and hidden knowledge.

I myself started out as an ancient history teacher and so much didn't add up for me. There were so many anomalies that were discredited and excluded to maintain the mainstream 'stories' to explain phenomenon such as the pyramids in Egypt to choose a well known example.

Anyone care to share?

911. If that doesn't wake you up then you probably aren't a human.

Re: When did you first become a conspiracy theorist? and why?
my mom used to get her "papers" every week at the grocery - enquirer and the like. i think i've thought strange stuff was real since i was what, like 8 or something? i would sometimes read them when she was finished and those things were filled with weird stories and aliens and bigfoot and all that good stuff. it was the 70s and i was little and i thought all of that stuff must be true if it was in the paper. thanks Enquirer!

but i guess the first "conspiracy" i really remember was that elvis wasn't dead and also from reading "the stand" i thought jim morrison wasn't dead.

It started in 1996 when I was 15 years old and it was because of the the dollar having federal reserve instead of united states note!

About the beginning of 2011. I was a sheep all along. What woke me up was when I discovered this site. I was seeking answers & help for some serious issues. I can't believe I was asleep for so long!

I don't consider most conspiracies theories. 911, for example, is pretty obvious. Only an idiot would believe the govt conspiracy theory.

When I saw a pic of Kennedy's 'Stretcher Bullet' in the newspaper.

Shortly after that a guy who I sold newspaper subscriptions for, gave me a book on UFO's 'Incident at Exeter'. Been somewhat hooked ever since.
