I'll bet $10 we never get a single picture out of the thing.

It's too damned complicated. Too many failure points.

I mean, geezuz, airbraking, chutes, and then a VTOL booster bungie jump?

It spells "crash and burn".

The technology seems so antique. Why aren't we using anti gravity and zero point energy... that kind of technology?

Well, because it's a government project.

It's going to burn up on entry into the Martian atmosphere, or strangle on its own chute chord, or the bungie booster dealy is going to explode.

This thing is an engineering class project, not a space ship.

How the fuck do parachutes even WORK at all, in the Martian atmosphere?

It's so tenuous that it's almost a vacuum.

but there is still an atmosphere there so it still has some effect.

first you have to prove it even exists. IF it did and only the government had it, then why has no one else come across the scientific principles it supposedly operates on?
