What many of you seem to have missed is that this bill was about allowing the STATES to require (or not) GMO labeling, which is clearly a 10th Amendment issue.

He should have voted for it.

What you seem to have missed was the actual wording of the bill:

“to permit States to require that any food, beverage, or other edible product offered for sale have a label on indicating that the food, beverage, or other edible product contains a genetically engineered ingredient.”

So, the bill was giving permission to the States to label or not label. Rand Paul voted against that permission.

Rand Paul against States' rights?

Senator from Kentucky, he has voted NO on a GMO labeling amendment to the farm bill “to permit States to require that any food, beverage, or other edible product offered for sale have a label on indicating that the food, beverage, or other edible product contains a genetically engineered ingredient.”

This really bothers me. Ron Paul is either a very heartbroken man or he is truely controlled opposition. This is devastating.gaah

That's so dumb. That's completely predictable. The Pauls vote "no" whenever the legislation increases government.

So both the senate.gov and federaljack.com are reporting that this vote was a decision to allow the states to decide this and RAND PAUL said no!?!?

There was always something I didn't like about Ron Paul's son Rand - this confirms it! Not only by supporting Romney, but there was an interview I heard him on the radio where he basically said that there are time to 'give and take' during discussions on what to support and what not to support. Completely 180 degrees than his father Ron!

RAND PAUL is are true (R - Republican) and I would not consider him an true libertarian or (I - Independent) -

F-RAND PAUL!
