Anonymous Coward User ID: 1312977 United States 06/24/2012 11:37 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | awhile ago i posted that i had noticed on my way to work that morning, i noticed the sun was in a different position in the sky. you see up until may, the sun around port angeles, washington would rise in the northeast and by the afternoon in was in the southern sky and would work its way up into the northwestern part of the sky as it was setting. then one morning starting the end of may i noticed the sun was rising in the east and would end up in the middle of the sky, straight overhead by the afternoon, and still set in the northwestern sky. well, i have been observing the path of the sky, and it is still rising in the northeast, makes its way directly overhead by afternoon, and sets in the northwestern sky. i dont know if its because in the summer the sun is in a different part of the sky or because the earth really is out of whack on its axis, or what Quoting: Anonymous Coward 11483595 Get this!!! I have determined by close observation with my instruments that the DAY IS GETTING SHORTER!!!!!!!!!! WTF?????? |

I know OP is trolling but for the ones falling for the troll... My Goto software which hasn't been updated in 2 years puts my scope right on the Sun. Here's a neat little program that's free and will give you where the stars, planets and the sun is supposed to be on any given day past or present. [link to stelarium.com] |

It appears the earth does not move the same, as it did, 20 years ago. My guess was a "wobble" was taking place, currently. A polar shift alignment change. Mickeyblue User ID: 9806228 United States 06/24/2012 12:12 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | OP it is really nice that you are observing your environment. The sun is behaving quite normally, however, for the season that we are enjoying. Continue to watch it and now that we have obsserved the summer solstice you will notice the days will draw shorter and eventually the sun will have moved sufficiently from its present postition down from the east north eastern location till it gets into the extreme east south eastern one. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 18339829 United States 06/24/2012 05:06 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Wow, how many people do not know about the seasons? Have you just recently paid attention to this phenomenon OP? This thread is hilarious, it's like someone saying that they looked up to the sky and saw the moon shaped like a crescent and thought "OMG, the moon got eaten". Due to the Earth's axis (23.5 degrees) and the earth's orbit around the sun, the sun appears at different angles throughout the year. In the northern hemisphere the Sun appears to rise from the northern part of the east during the summer, and the sun appears to rise from the southern part of the east during the winter. Look it up, learn some science before posting your whacked out ignorant threads. |
