I was a child in Baltimore in the fifties, and
blacks from the city were expanding (read breeding)
outward. Blacks from the south were also coming north
for jobs and welfare, and they had to go somewhere.
Greedy realtors used a technique called "blockbusting".

We were caught up in that. A shyster named Goldseker
(I shit you not) was breaking up our neighborhood that
way.

By the time the neighborhood had a dozen blacks the
property values were headed south, and nobody wanted
to buy, except blacks. And Goldseker was standing there
with buyers. We sold through Goldseker, and moved
to (then) all white Baltimore County.

There were a few small black enclaves in Baltimore
County like Turner's Station and Winter's Lane, but
until de-segregation in the sixties they kept to
themselves.

We moved far enough out that there were no blacks
until the nineties. By the mid-nineties they had
reached where I grew up.

I moved to West Virginia, and will be dead and gone
by the time any non-whites ever reach my
neck of the woods.

Why do most whites not want to live near blacks?

Same thing here in England, London specifically. Talk to a lot of white people and they want to move beyond the M25 (ring round around London). Communities that were once clean, attractive with low crime are now dirty, litter all over, halal shops everywhere, much higher level of crime. The biggest change has been the people- once mostly white communities are now black and Indian (loads of muslims).

I work with a woman whose husband has been a police officer for over twenty years in this area (East London). In all the hundreds of arrests he's made for crime related incidents, only a small percentage have been white; the majority are black. He says there are now more issues with Musllims too.

Yeah, there is "white flight", but you never hear of black flight. Wonder why?
