I'll predict an 8.0+ when my research indicates one.
I'm tracking the connection between earthquake history and NEO activity including "very close approaches", "clusters of close approaches" and consistent quake history for specific objects.
Currently no NEOs upcoming soon that I have checked have a consistent history. The ones I found in the past were posted.
Currently the only NEO making a very close appoach is not until Feb 2013 but new ones will be discovered soon, and when they are I'll predict a significant quake within a day of that date... because that is the pattern.
Currently July 5 has an above average cluster of NEOs so I'm watching for a significant quake within a day of that date.
I do not yet have a way to predict the location, but with billions of planets out there I have narrowed it down to Earth.
I usually state a magnitude but to put a date anything less than 6.5 during a 3 day window has a 40 to 50% chance of happening by chance. Such as July 5th, I expect a 6.3+ which could be a coin flip. And smaller magnitude quakes can still be "significant" or deadly depending on location.
I'm just documenting my research and predictions by posting on GLP while I refine my methods. I'm OK with misses. And realize this is just entertainment.
