Japan sells 1st seafood since Fukushima - sells out in hours
These people gonna be glowing like lightening bugs...gasp

<snip>

Seafood caught off the coast of Japan's Fukushima region has been put on sale for the first time since last year's nuclear crisis.

The sale was limited to octopus and marine snails, as other species cannot be sold yet because of contamination.

The catch was sold at reduced prices in markets across the prefecture.

The earthquake and tsunami devastated Japan's northeastern coastlines and caused a meltdown at the Fukushima nuclear facility.

Hirofumi Konno, an official in charge of sales at the fishing co-operative in Soma city, said many people had bought the produce to show their support for the industry.

"I was filled with both uncertainty and hope today, but I was so happy when I found out the local supermarket had sold out by 3pm," he told the Associated Press.

This is an update on the tuna recall. 400 people confirm affected. 47 hospitalized. No deaths reported as of yet.

interesting side-note:

In every article I read about this, it was stated that this specific tuna (raw yellowfin tuna) has a long shelf life.
I'm guessing the connection they want us to make is that this tuna is PRE fukushima as opposed to POST fukushima.

TPTB must think we're ~really~ stupid

The CDC reports this evening that a total of 390 persons infected with the outbreak strains of Salmonella Bareilly (376 persons) or Salmonella Nchanga (14 persons) have been reported from 27 states and the District of Columbia. Illness onset dates range from January 1, 2012 to June 3, 2012.

376 persons infected with the outbreak strain of Salmonella Bareilly have been reported from 27 states and the District of Columbia. The number of ill persons with the outbreak strain of Salmonella Bareilly identified in each state is as follows: Alabama (4), Arkansas (1), California (7), Colorado (1), Connecticut (11), District of Columbia (3), Florida (1), Georgia (18), Illinois (29), Indiana (1), Kansas (1), Louisiana (6), Massachusetts (36), Maryland (39), Missouri (4), Mississippi (2), Nebraska (2), New Jersey (35), New York (58), North Carolina (12), Pennsylvania (34), Rhode Island (6), South Carolina (4), Tennessee (4), Texas (13), Virginia (22), Vermont (1), and Wisconsin (21)

".......The outbreak may continue at a low level for the next several months since some food establishments may be unaware that they received recalled product and continue to serve this frozen raw yellowfin tuna product, which has a long shelf-life."

******

here's another:

The product is imported from India. The contaminated Tuna Scrape has been recalled, but the cases continue, and authorities expect that they may continue over the next several months because retailers are not aware of the recall of the tainted tuna. The product has a long shelf life, which is why people continue getting food poisoning as a result of it.

and another:

Although the numbers of new cases has declined since the outbreak peaked in April, illnesses may continue since some establishments may be unaware that they are in possession of a recalled, potentially tainted product, explained MSNBC. The recalled raw, yellowfin tuna has a long shelf life.

and just for shits & giggles...one more:

The numbers of new cases have declined substantially since the peak in April 2012. The outbreak may continue at a low level for the next several months since some food establishments may be unaware that they received recalled product and continue to serve this frozen raw yellowfin tuna product, which has a long shelf-life

of course they're two different things...But who's the reporting agency? CDC? WHO? The govt? You trust them? Cuz I sure don't.

what if they ARE connected. Would they announce that? Think about it. It's just like how they report anything else. Ever go into one of the govt sponsored web site? Any of those dot gov sites? Think those are accurate? Cuz they're not.

When I had read those articles about the tuna recall, I just felt it was odd that somewhere in ALL the stories, was the comment about the long shelf life. Could mean absolutely nothing. But even if it does mean something....I just wouldn't hold my breath waiting for an official word from our govt agencies tounge

I was at my local food store in Alaska yesterday and noticed every brand of tuna was on sale most of it was half off. I laughed and told a few other shoppers standing around loading up on the cheap tuna that I figured this would happen and they shouldn't buy cheap radioactive tuna. The few people I talked too didn't even know about Fukushima or any of the radiation!!!

Just an example of how hardly anyone even knows what's going on in the world today
