one month ago news were reporting the tower to be bending and close to fall. The needed conservation job was really expensive and probably the tower should had sell to privates
so let's see...

I do know of the bending but I believe they are drawing more and more attention to the big ben. Just like the WTC and the now One World Trade Centre or Freedom tower, they might be bringing down the BB with a FF and erecting another symbol of their accomplishment in its place.
