Okay so people that are curious mephedrone is a form of speed and cheap for meth heads. The Government made mephedrone illegal in Oct 2011 so company's had to figured out how to genetically splice the shit to create a new chemical compound in order to get people high and continue keeping it legal. Why the change in these types of cases and we are not used to the adverse reactions because it is a new drug that effects the brain differently.

Citing an “imminent threat to public safety,” the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) made illegal the possession and sale of three of the chemicals commonly used to make bath salts -- the synthetic stimulants mephedrone, MDPV, and methylone. The ban, issued in October 2011, is effective for at least a year. During that time, the agency will decide whether a permanent ban is warranted.
