A man's most valauble tool is his brain....which gives him the ability to invent new tools to get the job done, whatever that may be.

Would you declare that a bears' teeth and claws were illegal to him because those are his tools of defense? How then, can you declare that the human's ability to invent new tools to balance the odds is also illegal?

Are we as powerful as a bear, with its teeth and claws? Obviously not, therefore we invented tools to balance nature. The same goes when pitting human against human, as we are not all physically created equal. THerefore, you must concede that a man's ability to use a tool to balance nature is a just and God given right, that shall not be infringed for any reason.

In my opinion the young man was acting immature, not the attitude I expect off someone open carrying.

He could have acted with respect and said the same things, that way he probably wouldn't have been disarmed during the conversation.

You do not waive your rights by divulging your name and address, and I don't see the problem with allowing a pat-down search.

again...its too bad you dont live in the USA where the bill of rights protects you against unreasonable search and seizure, therefore protecting you from ANY search (patdown or not) if you have not committed a crime.

So all you folks who were unfortunate in life to be born in the liberty robbing countries you are currently in, or were dimwitted enough to move there, will never understand what it is to have such GOD given gurantees.

No, it shows the police officer was making sure that the man carrying a gun is licensed to do so and this guy is just being cocky with his knowledge of law.

No, he was being responsible in wanting to make sure the guy wasn't a felon or wanted for a warrant...there's nothing wrong with showing ID...why didn't the guy have the weapon concealed to begin with? Because he was looking for a confrontation...

I just thought it was too bad he sounded so nervous. He was completely in the right. Plus, I sincerely doubt he was "carrying" the gun down the street like a loaf of bread, he most likely had it holstered like any intelligent, arms carrying person would. That is the very reason I keep mine concealed. The media has done a great job of making it "seem" illegal to carry a gun.
He certainly knew the law. Too bad he was so insecure in quoting it.

Yes, but disrespectfully and he is a piss poor example to the youth of our country. That police officer was treating him with the utmost respect at first and the guy should have respected that.

To be honest that guy sounds like a right c*nt. I'd be more concerned if the cops didn't stop and query someone why they were walking around openly with a gun.

If it was someone who ended up going postal and killing innocent people, the same people paying out on the cops here would be blaming the cops for not stopping and querying his motives earlier on.

Nothing worse than a screechy little law student who 'knows his rights' but doesn't know how to have a polite conversation with another human being, cop or not.

Not siding with cops, but would have loved to see him get tazed for being a little know it all: then be sent on his merry way.

You dont need to show Id because technically the officer could have looked up the serial number on the gun because if it is registered it would of shown the officer the guys id and picture and his name, and if it wasnt registered or it was a different guy in the computer, then the officer has cause to arrest him.
