Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 sales banned by US court
A court has banned sales of Samsung's Galaxy Tab 10.1 tablet in the US while it decides on the firm's patent dispute with Apple.

Apple has claimed that Samsung infringed its design patent and copied the look of its popular device, the iPad.

The Samsung tablet is considered by most analysts as the biggest rival to Apple's iPad.

The ban does not apply to the Galaxy Tab 10.1 II, the tablet's new edition.

The trial for the case is scheduled to begin in California on 30 July.

Apple will have to post a $2.6m (£1.67m) bond to enforce the injunction, which it applied for in May, to compensate Samsung if the ban subsequently proves to have been unnecessary.

Competition is what makes a Thriving Market.

If they allow laws that protect a Cartel like Apple to give them exclusive rights to a sector of the market they are doing so out of pure Collectivism.

Court decisions are not consistent in Germany , Netherland ,US ,and Australia. Anyway, SS stocks went up 3% after the news.

Apple has a whole division that does nothing but constantly file copyright lawsuits. They're flush with cash so they can hold up they're competitions production forever filing suit after suit.

Im wondering if i can envisage some kind of future whereby component manufacturers and designers boycott apple subcontracting because they want a slice of the tablet pie but dont want to be sued by the company they are selling their components too.

I think apple is just worried its going to go the route of mid 90's apple.

The only solution is apple lowers its prices and starts dev on an iOS that is compatible with its desktops.

I own both apple and asus products. I find iOS and Android to have pros and cons. As a matter of fact since android 3.0 it has been mostly as good as anything apple has on tablets/phones.

Now android 4 is out it is starting to surpass it in a few ways.

The Samsung Tab 10.1 blew the iPad 2 our of the water. And I am very much looking forward to the Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1.

As soon as that baby hits the shelves I am gonna sell my Samsung Tab 10.1 and buy the Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1.

Samsung make about 60% of the chips used inside the Ipad, I believe they don't make the displays.
