Heat wave: 1,000+ records fall in US in a week
Feeling hot? It's not a mirage. Across the United States, hundreds of heat records have fallen in the past week.

From the wildfire-consumed Rocky Mountains to the bacon-fried sidewalks of Oklahoma, the temperatures are creating consequences ranging from catastrophic to comical.

In the past week, 1,011 records have been broken around the country, including 251 new daily high temperature records on Tuesday.

Cities as Hot as Death Valley

However, on June 26, 2012, intense high pressure aloft and pre-existing drought allowed parts of the High Plains to pop high temperatures which either matched or exceeded the high of 110 degrees measured at Death Valley's Furnace Creek. Click the images above to see which city's seared in the incredible 110s.

Nothing ever happens on the west coast period. Over the last few years catastrophic weather events have occured all throughout the US and West Coast nothing.

The West Coast has been sitting pretty the whole time.

Wait for it... wait for it... Wait for it...

Not so fast there.....about a decade ago they were high and dry.

They went through an epic drought. I remember some lady washing her clothes in the toilet tank. Lakes were dried up......

It's been pretty quiet lately. But I'd hold my breath. They have not had a big quake in a while.

How unfortunate for some rulers when men, women, and children continue to think... Keep repeating the lies loud enough and long enough and just maybe the people will start to believe the lies again and good luck with that...finding your energy open until mars becomes raging aries...

Re: Heat wave: 1,000+ records fall in US in a week
I've been living in my area for over 30 years now and this year has been the hottest I've experienced.

We had a very mild winter here and by the spring time I was pouring a sweat just working outside.

I think it's just going to get worse as middle July and August seem to be when it starts to get a bit more summery(is that even a word?) around here.

I'm going to make a guess that in that time frame we will average 100 degrees for the rest of summer.Hopefully my guess is wrong.

Hottest temp ever recorded in Denver was 105. We hit that 2 days in a row, Monday and Tuesday.
