Protip: America has technically been a socialist hybrid country since the day you were born. We, as a society, pool a portion of our income together to pay for services that benefit us all, which we could not pay for on our own. It's called modern civilization, not socialism. Did you personally pay to have all those roads you drive on paved? Did you personally pay for the construction and staffing of the school you send your kid to? How many police are on your personal payroll?

The fact that one more service is being added to that list (health care) is not a sign that your country is becoming 'socialist'. It's just a sign that you've been extremely, and effectively, brainwashed by a bunch of old men who live in the back pocket of the health care industry.
