Thank you kindly. I have been told it will be about 120 degrees and we will be on the raft and average of 6 hours a day.

Do you think 2 30-packs of adult beverages will be enough?

which rafting company are you going with?

spending the night @ Phantom Ranch? order the steak and say hey to Dave, the manager & remember, what happens at the ranch stays at the ranch

how long you staying at Havasupai? the water fall & pool complex is fantastic!

bring water proof cameras!

btw - worked on the south rim for 2 yrs selling, among other things, rafting trips.

Please take some other beverages, too. I went on a very mellow 1 day trip (no rapids) and the captain had iced-tea and lemonaide drinks for everyone and said your guts could dry out before you realize your in trouble, so you don't really want to make it worse.

Be careful but have fun!

for one day, no more was needed for me.

edit: I stayed overnight at the lodge but and left the next morning. Used the helicopter to get in and out so had enough time.

Make sure, when you get to The Phantom Ranch, that you buy the t-shirt. You can't get it at the rim or anywhere else.

I took the mules down, stayed at the ranch three days and then mules back up.

Make sure you've got extra batteries for your camera. The prices at the ranch are HIGH.

Looks like Arizona raft adventures and Canyon Discovery. I have not done anything like this before.

I will find out about Havasupai though. I was told there would be a thousand foot water fall generating some rapids,...

Is that Havasupai area.

A friend of mine almost drowned on raft trip through the canyon. He wanted to hike out but they said it was impossible, so he had to get back in the raft. He was fat and out of shape, though....

Early Sept. of '96 Just last year I converted my 346 "slide pictures" to digital which cost me over $230.00 US Worth every penny. I still use them today as as slide show screen saver on this computer.

hmmm i bet we know the same people. Are you familiar with Papillion Tours or the Grand Hotel?

I'm not that young anymore myself. 2012 is a good year to go for the gusto,...so to speak.

I plan on having some powdered Gatorade and emergen-C's and the like. Dehydration will kill ya!

You'll be amazed at how cold The Colorado River is!! If I recall it's around 45F coming out of the bottom of the Glen Canyon Dam, even in the middle of the hottest of summers.

I've read in "Into the Wild" that it is very
expensive to do and every Year only a
limited Number of Visitors are allowed
to do so, is this right and how much
do you need to pay?
