The pictures she took were absolutely incredible. Have a blast Z. She did! Thank you Spirals. I am told it's a blast. Actually,...the guide is a poker buddy of mine and he talked me into going. Sure be and eye-opener if anything is in this world. My thing with the camera, is that ever since I went on the Hopi reservation it has bugged me. You see, they do not want picture taken of them because they believe it entraps the soul somehow. I am trying keep actively creative and current in my experiences. IDK,...the pictures never seem like me when I look back, they look like someone I used to be. Z Free your mind,...your ass will follow. --- parliament funkadelic |

Z you have never experienced a lake until you experience powell. Glen Canyon dam is the same size as hoover dam but just a few inches shorter. Lake Mead and Hoover on one end of the canyon and Lake Powell and Glen Canyon at the other end. Lake Powell feeds Lake Mead which is constantly drying up. Lake Mead is like a soup bowl a very unattractive lake, but gets the hype because it is close to vegas. Lake Powell on the other hand is drop dead gorgeous and stretches into utah for miles and miles with everything from canyon walls you can climb to indian ruins you go in and hydroglyphs(sp) its all so amazingly beautiful and fun. |

You can't get it at the rim or anywhere else. Quoting: DeadBeacon I took the mules down, stayed at the ranch three days and then mules back up. Make sure you've got extra batteries for your camera. Anonymous Coward User ID: 6289134 United States 06/29/2012 12:43 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I agree with you OP on "moments in time" stuff. Photos are nice, but be sure to personally experience the surroundings - don't hide behind a camera. Also - WATER WATER WATER WATER... did I mention water? Unfortunately hundreds of tourists find themselves in trouble out west by not having enough water. it may not FEEL hot in the shade, even in 120 degree weather, because of the 0% humidity, and you don't sweat, so dehydration comes on sudden and hard. Other than that, have fun. If you are going with a tour group they should be able to make sure you are all safe and sound. If you tromp over to Sedona, and like to go off roading (no tour guide), stop at Sedona ATV and Buggy [link to www.atvsedona.com] great people, good prices for the area, great equipment, and they make sure you have everything you need! Anyway.. have a blast .. and I repeat - WATER. |
