Discussion between myself (black, mixed) & my white spiritual mother about the current race issue...

Warning - if you are not into the spiritual meaning behind things then this thread is not for you..

I asked my spiritual mom, who is white, to explain her take on all of this racial polarity stuff that seems to be going on.....

These were her responses:

She said that much of American is operated and built on a "race consciousness" ideal...and that currently we are all undergoing transformations that will bring us face to face with our "shadow selves".. the selves that are there - but we feel uncomfortable talking about or dealing with.

She said that one of the shadow selves of America as a whole is in her opinion - racism....

It is something that has been buried, very deeply- but it has not gone away... and when you bury something and do not address it head on - it always returns to confront you when its time to face your shadows...

She said that the significance of a black president - is so that that "shadow" can be brought to light - for each and every individual to see- acknowledge - and overcome.... because the truth of the matter is - it isn't black vs white or white vs. black - it is a disparity between the "haves" and "have not's"....and we are all motivated out of our fears to place blame on each other...black still have alot of blame and pain they direct towards whites to some degree, and whites are now projecting their own feelings of racism on blacks- by calling blacks racists...

I asked her would she vote for Obama... she said policy wise- because in her locale republicans have had a better education policy than democrats and education is huge with her. She also says she hates the new healthcare bill but- on the same token she believes that Romney supports the healthcare bill (because he did something similar)and if voted into office is not going to do a thing to change it. She said Obama is certainly not the best president- but he's not the worst neither- circumstances are the way they are due to compounded conditions and anyone taking the presidency right now would have a great deal to take on their shoulders - because we are at the helm of a radical change in the entire world- not just here.

I asked her about victim consciousness- which she mentioned before in regards to blacks. She said yes- that is always a huge problem and one that can stifle their growth and they are already operating at a handicap from the condition under which they arrived here, and the Jim Crow era of the south. They need healing on very deep spiritual and psychological levels. As do whites - because in the case of whites - in 2012 - they are dealing with generational age old feelings and fears- that many of them cant identify with - or feel totally disconnected from - because they were not directly involved in the slave trade....

She had alot of good points, I asked her how is this all going to work out?

She says unfortunately, she feels there will be a race war- because things may have to reach a point of catastrophe before people can come to a place of balance and leave their "poles"... but nothing is written in stone and we have the power to change anything - through love....

I love my spiritual momma.. I just wanted to share that.
