Absolutely true. My father was a good hearted gentleman with perfect vision; and he donated his corneas at death. He was under a doctor's care for years, but never diagnosed with an aneurysm. Instead, they kept prescribing shit to him, which made his blood pressure go up and caused his death from a stroke.

They kept him on life support for a few days (the excuse being so that members of the family from hundreds of miles away could come bid our last good-byes), then took his corneas, then let him die. I think that was the cruelest most inhumane treatment of a Human being, imaginable. I think the doctors just saw him as a source of income, nothing more.

For about a year after his death, I was haunted by the sound of his voice calling my name. It seemed he was trying to TELL me something.

I no longer have "organ donor" on my DL; but doctors have a very nasty, disrespectful attitude (not solicitous at all) toward me ever since I did that.
