Once saved always saved never existed, if we don't live 100% for GOD setting examples of true love and christianity, forgiveness, humbleness, patient, longsuffering, setting the same example that JESUS did, we so called christians, will not make it to heaven.

THANKS[!] for this informational update. Just last month marked the 22nd anniversary of when I went eyeball-to-eyeball with Fred Phelps when I filmed a feature-length documentary on the first Gay Pride Parade in Wichita [KS]. My lengthy on-camera interview with Fred and his sons and minions was only the 2nd time he had ever protested a gay-themed event.... the first only a few weeks before, also here in Wichita. I was dressed "straight" that day, even wearing a wedding band as I knew he wouldn't say a word otherwise.

As I backtracked my camera and followed Fred in the tight circle of his pathetic little picket line, I was struck by one thing in particular: his eyes. A piercingly vivid blue, they appeared fiery -yet emotionless... they had a very detached look about them. His recitations of skewed Biblical scriptures that supported his narrow views were rattled off like rote... almost like incantations to ward off evil spirits as during an exorcism. That day, I also interviewed one of his sons and daughter Shirley [who has lately taken up the reigns of the dead horse that WBC still rides relentlessly] - but they both possessed a "normal" appearance that Fred himself did not.

Phelps really opened up to me that Sunday morning, since he had just begun his campaign to become the Governor of Kansas and had gotten precious little media coverage for his campaign - boasting of a 2-min piece that WIBW [Topeka KS] had done a few days before as if it somehow validated his presence, not acknowledging the fact that the Topeka station had actually ridiculed his efforts.

He ranted for my lens for about 15 solid minutes before I cut and went upstairs to interview leaders of our local Gay community. When I returned about an hour later, Fred had ceased walking in circles and was exhorting his 'troops", reassuring them of the nobility of their cause, thier placards drooping from fatigue [BTW: those "God Hates Fags" placards you see today are the SAME ones he used back then - if nothing else, Fred is thrifty!].

One month later -just before our parade began- I again aimed my camera in Fred's direction. That day, I was wearing my "normal" attire. Fred recognized me at once from our earlier interview and immediately his back stiffened and eyes hardened as he realised he had been "had" during our previous meeting; but since there was other media present, he forced himself to remain cordial.

The crowning acheivement of my final shot of Fred was to verbally back him into a corner and force him to admit -on camera- that God was smiling down on our little parade that day... by giving us blessed weather for our march.

That was all 22 years ago. I'm truly surprised Fred Phelps has stayed alive this long... in spite of the bullet-proof vest he started to wear shortly after my camera stopped rolling.

If he has any sesnse he will specify cremation, and ashes to be scattered at a secret location.

Otherwise, many people will be lining up to piss and shit on his grave!
