With regard to monitoring the activity of the volcano Nevado del Ruiz, the Volcanological and Seismological Observatory of Manizales reports that:


The volcano's activity level changes to:
LEVEL RED (I): ERUPTION IMMINENT OR IN PROGRESS
The volcano continues in an eruptive process. However, the amplitude of the seismic signal associated with the eruption has decreased relative to the start thereof. The eruption column reached a height of around 8 km, observed from the city of Manizales in the direction toward the southwest. It has been reported ashfall in areas near the volcano as the Cerro Gualí. So far there are no reported mudflows formation or seismic signals have been reported associated with this phenomenon.
The Colombian GEOLOGICAL continues to oversee the evolution of volcanic phenomena in a timely manner and report changes that may occur.
