Latest GFS run is the really the only model that is hinting at the potential for some severe activity across the Plains and Midwest tomorrow as I venture into the Plains. The SPC (Storm Prediction Center) places a risk over the Dakotas into Northern Nebraska. My weather instinct is telling me to pitch this as this looks to be the outlier, but my adventure instinct says its going to happen! We shall see. Weather for life! -John

Seems like it used to be that the hottest part of the day was between noon and 1pm.

But it doesn't start heating up around here until between 2pm and 5pm. That's the hottest part of the day for us.

The garden is in meltdown. today.

Serious? Wow, that covers our area, but there is NOTHING in the forecast at all. It would have to "develop."

And if it does develop, it will be heading in the direction of Chicago again.

It is 30c here in Toronto, sunny, with a breeze off the lake. Gorgeous summer day, and the whole holiday weekend has been beautiful.

i was out late this afternoon and the one in the car said 101. was up to 104 the other day, thursday i think.

the weather report is calling for "at least" another 7 days of the heat wave.

Yep, somethings going on. The clouds are there, but they're high. The wind is blowing, but it seems to not know in which direction to blow. Sometimes from the south, sometimes from the east, sometimes from the north. The flags don't know what to do. Some are not waving at all. It seems to be gathering strength I guess.

The echo tops of the storms ( height) is 11,000 to 46,000 feet tall. Largest hail right now is 0.75" which is about the size of a penny.
