But not everyone can have superavites right? Someone must get in debt for others to export and that creates balances of trade and power. As for Portugal we're facing a huge structural change to increase exports and reduce dependence from outside, but at a huge cost :( Current account should stabilize in the next years, and the government wants to have a structural superavit of 5% like countries such as Germnay and Denmark.  |
