He made his choice. Nobody is responsible but him.

Body bag, and off to Bellevue hospital Morgue.

Life in the big city.

thats wrong.

everyone is responsible...

are you saying they are not adults??
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 19104260

They are adults, but unfortunately they are not accustomed to traumatic situations where they can react while still keeping their heads about them.

The guy simply made his decision. He could have walked to the end of the platform and take the track worker steps up to the platform.

If a psycho is determined to off himself, rule number 1; don't let him take you with him. Goes for jumpers on the bridges, but applies in the subway, too.

What, are you blind?

HE FELL BACKWARDS INTO THE THIRD RAIL.

THIS IS BECAUSE HE WAS TOO DRUNK TO WALK. PROBABLY HOW HE ENDED UP DOWN THERE IN THE FIRST PLACE.

If you've never been drunk enough to have trouble walking, you're either extraordinarily lucky or have lead an extremely dull life.

This was NOT a suicide. Who the fuck stumbles and trips into something on purpose?

And your point is invalid; even if the power cut is only effective for a few minutes, which you've merely speculated here, DID YOU SEE ANYONE TRY? DID YOU SEE IT GO OFF FOR EVEN A MINUTE? Don't be a total dumbass, there is absolutely no reason why one of those gawking witnesses couldn't have run for a cutoff switch, an operator, the intercom, or any of the OTHER expensive shit they put into subways to keep this kind of thing from happening.

There is no excuse for this degree of inaction and sheer uselessness from the witnesses involved, period. Trains have been known to derail on bodies, they're also equally responsible for the lives of the people ON THE NEXT TRAIN.

I've explained as best I can how most peoples non-reaction in traumatic situations goes.

As for the power off button on the platform, it IS only cut for a few minutes from that switch. It's not speculation. Permanent power has to be cut from a central location, on authority from Police, Fire, EMS, Transit Wokers, etc.

This individual was a homeless psycho, as many of them are, intermittently dangerous, psychotic, etc. Unpredictable.

"Who the fuck stumbles and trips into something on purpose"?

A psycho, which NYC is full of. Has been since they emptied out the insane asylums, decades ago. Now they give them some pills, and throw them back on the street.

Like I said; he made his decision, it's on him.
