The reason that the police have been so twitchy with this is because a little-known, but capable and proven Italian anarchist group has actually declared that they intend to 'wage war' on the UK during the Olympics by attacking vulnerable infrastructure such as inter-city coaches. They have stated that they have no intention of attacking big symbolic targets in cities, they will leave that to the muzzies. Instead they intend to target the motorways, railways, water systems, mobile phone towers, the national grid etc.

Their stated aim is to cause a 'civil war' in the UK by turning everyone against each other. This, they hope, will destroy the current system. Then, they argue, a new system can be built - but only after this system is razed to the ground in a violent civil war.

Whether or not you have heard of them, they should be take seriously as they have carried out shootings in Italy, and they took down the emergency services mobile communications and the railway communications around Bristol, in south west England, a couple of months ago.

This is the worst possible threat. Whilst the police and security services are capable of focusing huge resources on a handful of big, obvious targets, like central London and the Olympic venues for example, they simply can't possibly cover the entire transport and utilities infrastructure of the entire UK. These Italians are smart. They will attack in areas that are not considered targets at all - like rural market towns and villages, and rural stretches of motorway.

That, I think, is why the response was so rapid and spectacular - because they are waiting for something just like this. Though in this case I'm leaning towards the Pot Noodle!

It is understood the passenger had been inhaling the e-cigarette device, which emits water vapour and is legal to smoke on board a vehicle, covered by a bag so those around were not able to properly see.
