My opinion is bias as a Lakers fan, but I think this is exactly what they needed and am no longer as angry with the league as I was when they refused to let the CP deal happen (it did still cost them a legit shot last year, but whatever, now they have 3 years to contend barring injuries). Thoughts? |

Have you ever been involved with an individual sport at all that can easily and constantly over-power you and YOU have to come up with the talent to adapt...NO, why not? Aside from your "pretensious manly man" fights where no-one here can even figure out how many fights you have won or lost (even in the gym) with most likely very shifty competion, what have you done? Why start a thread about sports when clearly from ALL of your other posts here, you can't even claim a sport background at all, aside from your flabby (yes, very flabby photo of you in a toga-t-shirt thing)? Even with your photo, you talk shit about how you respect women, yet you have one in your photo "blowing" you...is that really a woman, or a man with long hair?...why do you completely and constantly disrespect her by showing that photo here...was that your 1st BJ (dude lose that photo, she has parents you know)? Buy yourself a Yamaha R1/Kawasaki ZX-10/GSXR-1000 (or similar 1000cc road bike), get really fast and serious on that thing....and then invite my friend "c.f." (or me up there to Penn to show you how to really ride...I don't own a 1000cc road bike but have riden enough to make you a tiny blip in the rear-views...and can get you in touch with "c.f. with a simple phone call). Better yet, I seriously will take it upon myself to challenge you to a game of raquetball whenever you are ready, and when I destroy you...I will attept to tell you why I picked this seemingly mundane sport, rather than Superbike motorcycles...you would be surpised, it is HIGHLY fight related. "Masterbate-man" before someone much less than myself meets you up "there" for whatever challenge you choose, then puts it on YouTube and then shares it with the good folks here at GLP...I highly suggest you take a few steps back from your inflated ego. Not saying it was you because I don't know, but I took a dumbass that looked exactly like you apart about 8-10 years ago in Georgetown, right next to "Third Edition" in the alley where "Champions" used to be. Was one of the most pathetic fights I have ever been in, the guy was so slow it was amazing. I landed only about 4 shots, all of which dropped him time after time in almost slow-mo on his part. If that was you...get out of the fight game. I have nothing against you Pat, just mentioning that noone has called you on your BS quite yet in here, and I'm sorry to have to do it. We all end up running into a brick wall sooner or later in this "Alpha-Male" role...you just ran into your's (lol). Drop the "I'm the almighty" crap, we are getting sick of seeing it. Maybe concentrate on how you help people that are weak, the times you made a difference for the helpless...stuff like that goes over much better in this World, not so much be be annoying though. As Alphas, we all grow past ourselves...time you do too, help the weak. |

Soccer will NEVER be a top 3 sport in this country because football, baseball and basketball are our sports that we dominate and will always be the top 3 in the USA. maybe if US soccer was a world power things would be different. But the best athletes in America start playing basketball, football and baseball very young. Can you imagine if lebron, wade, Derrick rose, Brian urlacher, Gronkowski and desean jackson were soccer players. The only thing I will say to football fans who want to bash soccer and call it gay is this, what sounds more stereotypically gay? An athlete wearing a shirt, shorts and shin guards for a uniform or an athlete who wears shoulder pads, girdles and spandex capris? Ask a rugby player how manly that is. I think it's OK but think it's because some can't accept the fact that my team wins the National Championship so much and they are just jealous and trying to get some sort of edge. We will dominate most of the time as we have a built in ability to grow our own players not found in other parts of the country. But I don't think Alabama can win two years in a row so I will be curious to see how the new system works. End results will likely be the same but maybe some people will feel better about it, dunno. Anonymous Coward User ID: 18617589 Australia 07/05/2012 09:56 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Robin van persie has decided to reject a contract extension at arsenal. Looks like they will try to offload him this transfer window or lose him on a free at the end of next season. Wenger bought him on the cheap and should sell him at a profit. He's had one sensational season but all those injuries robbed him in previous seasons. Onto AC Milan, well they are in a bit of shit. While they have cut down their wages they still have a debt of 65 mil. They extended Silva contract but still need to sell one or two of their stars to balance the books. I can see them selling Cassano, robinho or possibly ibrahimivich Probably the biggest and most shocking news for the rossaneri is the apparent interest in Andy carrol. Not really sure about it when ibra is still there but this is football we are talking here lol. More to come as I cbf typing at this moment. |

RVP could go to city but the big problem is that clubs want him but not at the price that arsenal want to sell him for. It's kinda lucky for the gunners that he had a great season just gone because that will help bump up the price but when you have clubs like juventus who are interested in him, they are pretty savvy on the market for the most part so they will be driving a hard bargin. And not to mention he is 29, so that will be a factor too. Kagawa has been pure class the last 2 seasons and the accolades and trophies prove that. Still , this is man utd and this is a whole new level. I'm kinda excited to see him and utd as they have been trying to chase a player of his caliber for a while now. Remember they had snidjer among others on their list previously but the money was a factor. It's too early to tell but I think he has gone to the right club purely for the simple fact that his temperament suits the clubs mentality. He puts his head down and works hard no questions asked. |

Patrick Bateman (OP) User ID: 10383712 United States 07/05/2012 10:47 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I would like to clear some things up about soccer. I am a huge football (American) and soccer fan. I am sick of the arguements between the 2 fans. You cannot compare the 2, the players or anything. Soccer is closer to basketball and hockey then football. If you want to compare football to something, rugby is the closest thing. Now, I always hear the same complaints about soccer so let me explain them. First, the diving. Yes, a lot of players will act like they were shot by a sniper in the stands after a little bump. When you have players like Ronaldo who can score on a free kick from anywhere within 35 yards, it's worth taking a dive and trying to get a foul. Don basketball players try to draw charges? Also, when the game is 90 minutes long, it's common to milk a cramp or injury to stop play for a few minutes so your team can get a drink and catch their breath. Speaking of 90 minutes, let me explain injury time. Games are 2 45 minute halves. Time never stops. But with injuries(real or fake), substitutions or anytime play is stopped, there is someone who's sole job is to keep track of the time all that takes up and adds it on to the final minutes of each half so that there is a full 45 minutes of game time each half. In football, there are 4 15 minute quarters but games take 3 hours plus. ESPN did a study with games from the 2008 and 2009 seasons. The average game only had 12-13 minutes of actual play from the ball being snapped to the play being whistled dead. Quoting: AmericanInfidel I love football and can't wait for the season to start, but can we stop with the arguements?
