Actually, with all the crap going on in the world, we need a little humor to stay sane! That's what is wrong with this world right now. Yes, things are bad and getting worse, but it doesn't mean that we have to lose our sense of humor. Butts are funny... along with farts and weiners and every other word that brings a smile to most people that have a great sense of humor. It doesn't mean that we don't care about the bad things going on around us. Just sayin'.

I call BS on the South Carolina official explanation that heat killed the fish. Its a few miles from my house and I`ve lived here all of my life. Every summer we cook with hundred degree weather. Its nothing new here yet I cant remember the last time thousands of fish just up and died. Note the 500 # is BS, Seen the shores for myself.

They had guys out in partial hazmat suits picking up dead fish for two days. This happened right at the state line with GA where I-85 crosses into SC. The waters are shared with GA hence the low water levels. GA is sucking lake Hartwell dry. Docks and boats that use to be in the water are a good 50ft up shore from the water line now.

We have two other good size lakes in the direct area that we do not share with GA and they are at a normal level and ofcourse, No dead fish.

This was done intentionally to try to discredit the oil industry in the area. They will kill animals and people to push their agenda.

Well, that makes sense:

It's extremely hot here in GA for a very prolonged period of time. More heat means less dissolved oxygen can be pressent in the water, which means less fish are able to live in the environment at the same time. The water circulation is probably all kinds of messed up. Thus, mass fish die-offs.

It's sad, but probably not THAT unusual.

And couple this with the Pacific Blue Fin Tuna Doom from Japan, and the fish are being taken away from us.

The levels of radioactive cesium were 10 times higher than the amount measured in tuna off the California coast in previous years. But even so, that's still far below safe-to-eat limits set by the U.S. and Japanese governments.

Environment officials do not yet know how many fish have been destroyed in a river in western P.E.I., after it was hit with a second fish kill in as many years.

Well, it looks like the officials are just going to let nature take care of the clean-up, so I guess if he can't
put up with the smell, he's going to have to help with the disposal of the dead----fish, that is.

Fish Dying in Southern Minnesota Lake

GENEVA, Minn. - Some fish are turning up dead at a southern Minnesota lake.

The Minnesota DNR says northern pike in Lake Geneva are dying all because of extremely hot weather.

We always hear the cause is "low oxygen" in the water. But what is causing the low oxygen levels. Shouldn't we be more than a little startled about that?

It appears that excessive heat and excessive cold both have detrimental effect on aquatic life.

Same here--who knows, it won't surprise me if I DO find an article that blames it on the fireworks.

the entire Earth is getting too hot, ocean is doomed, we are all dead men walking.

Low oxygen is a plausible theory atm, considering the heatwave being experienced. But, what is the cause of all the fish, seals, dolphins, birds etc., that died by the thousands over the Winter/Spring period across the Globe, before any heatwave struck? There has to be something else going on.
