The RFID chip will be used to attempt to round up and locate any survivors after the three days of darkness.

This will be mostly a waste of effort, but it will do its job to a small percentage of people remaining on the planet.

(The three days of darkness will purge the earth of all sin and a 2/3ds of the earths population will die during those three dark nights)
