Re: Greece on the verge of a civil war
Even with the rise of poverty in Greece, it is still a lot better off than most of the world. Greece has been living a pretty darn good life without paying for it for a long time. I can't phantom all the complaining coming from Greeks. I don't know Greece's specific suicide numbers but I'm sure it pales to suicide rate in East Asia. Instead of grumbling about austerity measures, Greeks need to rise up and send all your corrupt politicians and bankers to jail but then again you would rather fight among yourselves or drink coffee at your cafe.

Ok then if thinks are so great here, come and move here. You will have great beaches, sun and the rest. No thinks are not good and is a situation is not reversible. The mankind should try so that all the developing country's to become like the developed. Not the opposite. Cause then it will be a day that it will be your turn

Hello Foveras! I hope you are doing great today my friend!hf
Isn't the title of the article a little over the top and misleading? A non-violent protest of 200 Pakistanis can count as being on the verge of a civil war? We weren't on the verge of civil war last summer when thousands of people were protesting and fighting with the cops in the streets for days. There is no doubt though why the brought in 2 million illegal immigrants to Greece.
I 'll agree that defencenet is a fear-mongering source of news. The suicides though have started to be a daily occurrence and it is sad. People need to hang in there a bit more.

Re: Greece on the verge of a civil war
. . . "war"?

The warmongers will love that, for under the dust of chaos (another of Satan's favorite tools for destroying Man) youwill find them slithering, slashing, ripping and tearing at all who come near . . . death is life; war is peace; truth is hate; lie is love; up is down; black is white; slavery is freedom. All of which is for the "Goyem", not for they, the parasite.

Bible truths will set you free John 8:32
Truth is the greatest weapon on Earth, so why should you want anything else?

It's pointless to discuss retirement age, still people insist that if some arbitrary age was used, it would be sustainable. Pensions are by definition Ponzi schemes and have been used to funnel more money from the masses to the top of the pyramid.

Nobody under 50 anywhere in the world will have any kind of pension.

Doing good tbh. I moved out from Athens for the summer and life on the countryside is great. Peaceful and on a whole other quality dimension and level compared to Athens. Athens is too hot in the summer and the beaches suck. I couldn't move all the gear i need from my studio yet though so i will make one more visit to get them here.

Forums are not a good place to measure the tension and the desperation of people methinks, countless internet warriors out there that do little when TSHTF. I agree though that the rising of fascism and the illegal immigrants is a staged event. The only way for them to do something for the headlines is using them.

Greek people regardless what the rest of the world thinks were not always rich and spoiled. Most of our parents were working in the farms by the age of 15. I'm 30 and i don't remember having a very luxurious life when i was a child, not that we were starving or something but you get the picture. We were here before and not everyone has forgotten they way we lived 10-15 years ago. A good lesson for all of the Greeks that believed and invested in the bubble. But as i said before, as a nation we are survivors and we'll be much stronger when this storm ends.

I had a crazy 'vision' not so long ago of NATO troops in the streets of Athens.

I'm not a psychic or anything, but sometimes I intuit things, was confused as I had no idea things were that bad in Greece (as in, socially, not economically).

It's a common problem to blame the people for being lazy when the economy is not working and the unemployment is high. Everybody who still has a job and listens to MSM's diarrhea will confuse the cause and effect. The cause is not people being lazy, it's the economy not working anymore, but it's easier to blame the little people, forgetting that everything was just fine some years ago, with the same people working just fine, and not deciding to go on a laziness rampage all of a sudden.

You will start to hear this lazy campaign in other countries too now that the crisis is spreading. UK already told their citizens that they are a bit lazy and need to work more. On the other hand my family wasn't rich also, but we were surrounded by family members that had money and have a lot of money (Cousins of father). Also my grandfather was a minister before xounda. So I grow up in an environment with a lot of contrasts. I have met a lot of politician and rich people and I fear I know how they thing. (I have also met Epitimo and I am still alive) It is just their survival. They'll do anything. Money is bad chancellor.

I fear for that too tbh. So many sheeps in our society that will believe anything. The only way for this to happen though is if the people believe the whole propaganda that the MSM will serve them. The only enemy is the collapsing financial system, that is doing everything it can so they can turn people on each other. We have to inform ourselves and others better so this unfortunate scenario won't take place. We are not in the 30's anymore, the only way for them to pull this thing off, is massive disinfo and false flag events.

I fear that many people use TV, radio and internet only for entertainment. No one real cares. OK you might like a good line at the FB or Tweet something that seems nice but thats it. The people that are really searching for the words behind the lines at the 30's were reading at least newspaper and still had some info. Here if you have a different opinion than the MSM then you are either conspirator or a left/anarchist.

Blaming Greece for everything that has befallen it is BS. Sure, they had liberal benefits. Not unlike France I think. Sure, they spent more than they took it. I guess every western state is in that boat.

This goes way beyond Greece. It's about EU policy, it's about international bankers.

All Greece is guilty of is being the first to crumble. This sickness will make its' way around to the rest of us.

 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 15859949

The economy was not "just fine some years ago." Some years ago was the time when people were taking the actions which led to the problems of today.

It is like borrowing thousands of dollars every day from a bank to live a life of luxury. And then in a few months having the bill come due and wondering why things are so bad now when they were so good not too long ago...

Many of those in Greece were willing to accumulate massive debts that they knew would be forced onto future generations, their own children, creating for those children a life of debt slavery. The majority are hardly innocent.

If the majority were truly against enslaving their own children with debt, the situation would not exist as it does today.

You don't help a drug addict by telling him his present actions are not wrong and to look to someone else to blame, as the issue will then not be properly addressed.

Until people are willing to look honestly at their own ethical/moral failures and make a change, expect more of the same.

Intergenerational debt is child abuse.

Re: Greece on the verge of a civil war
Greece is just the most extreme version of a larger problem. The creation of Europe as an entity was built on certain premises. I've been reading a lot about it lately, and Europe was built on the thought that 1) common features were needed for mutual defense against an external threat and 2) to prevent another war as devastating to the victors and losers alike as the Second World War. What it was not built upon is any sincere regard for popular sovereignty.

The crisis as we see it now, then stems from the fact that the two reasons needed for a common Europe have vanished. I don't think most Europeans live in fear of military powers abroad and the new generation has no recollection of the horror of the war years.

So the Europe of the elites that previous generations accepted seems farcical in light of failing economic conditions, and it isn't surprising that nationalism is on the rise, and a number of people predicted the renationalization of Europe and splitting into blocs.

If Europe wants to be a single entity, it's going to take a lot more popular sovereignty, a lot of social welfare relief, and the rich nations agreeing to pay for the poor ones. I'm not saying it because I endorse that, but just from seeing how the Marshall Plan built western Europe in a more American image, so too would some plan have to exist to build the EU into a true federal state.

But between the weight of history, the corruption of the bureaucrats and bankers, and the lack of political will, I sort of see the fragmentation of the union into several blocs as the result.

And for Greece, I think you guys are going to go it alone, but that's not necessarily bad. It's an opportunity if you use it.

If the majority of the world abuses their children, that does not make the people of one particular area less guilty of abusing their children simply because the rest of the world does it also.

Let's be honest here, most average citizens still don't understand enough about their politicians to know who to elect in to power. They still believe in the left and right and that there's a difference between them.

Re: Greece on the verge of a civil war
As poverty is increasing rapidly, the number of people suicide increases, as the health system is collapsing, more or more rumors increases of a civil war within the next few months. Add the fact of the rise of the Golden Dawn, the increase incidents of juvenile which increases the feeling of insecurity and fear to the people and the possibility of a suspension of payments by the state and you see the game is setting up smoothly.

Here are some links for the increasing tension between left winged and golden dawn

My family immigrated from Greece. I'd be proud, not a coward who fears improving their own kind. hf

Re: Greece on the verge of a civil war
Blaming Greece for everything that has befallen it is BS. Sure, they had liberal benefits. Not unlike France I think. Sure, they spent more than they took it. I guess every western state is in that boat.

This goes way beyond Greece. It's about EU policy, it's about international bankers.
 Quoting: Erectus

And of course these policies and bankers simply dropped from the sky and took over with no choice being available to the people.

chuckle

If the majority of the world abuses their children, that does not make the people of one particular area less guilty of abusing their children simply because the rest of the world does it also.

It is to say, "I'm not to blame for beating my wife! I know of a few other guys in this neighborhood who do the same!"

Really, now.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 19218148

Come on, look at all the lies that have been told to the people of various countries. Do you honestly expect that the average citizen was aware of just how corrupt their governments have behaved? Let's be honest here, most average citizens still don't understand enough about their politicians to know who to elect in to power. They still believe in the left and right and that there's a difference between them.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 17984819

The people (not all of them) made a choice to support the liars whose lies comforted them and allowed them to benefit at the expense of their own children. The majority had no idea what debt is? The majority had no idea the country was in debt? The people were totally unaware that the politicians were dishonest and corrupt? The people supported the liars and lies selfishly because they directly benefited in the short term as a result of those lies, at the expense of others. Lies can be very comforting when they help you to feel better about doing wrong.

If a person borrows a thousand dollars from a bank every day and then one day has the bill come due, ruining their own economic situation and their family's, are you saying this person is innocent because they would not consider the results of their actions? That this person should be assured that the actions they took were not in error?

Telling people that the consequences of their unethical moral choices are not their fault/responsibility simply gets you more of the same.

It may be painful to look honestly at these unethical choices, but it is necessary if one wishes to learn from them and not repeat them.

""
These people aren't psychopaths. They're ordinary people like you or I. They are our neighbours, friends and family. To confront their privilege, we will need to understand the nature of the system. Calling them psychopaths does nothing other than make bogeymen of them
""

Dude...you are completely out-of-touch with reality.

The Psychopath Pathology is exactly what is wrong.

These are an "elite" group of ...
Darwinian Selected Psychopaths.

Let me repeat that so it sinks in to the slow.

Darwinian Selected Psychopaths...

Darwinian Selected Psychopaths...

Darwinian Selected Psychopaths...

These Psychopaths can't stop themselves, that is the nature of their desperate illness.

One dangerous aspect of their pathology is a homicidal/suicidal character, and a desperate NEED to control others.

When you take away their "control" they develop insidious plans to regain it, or they will go homicidal/suicidal.

Like junkies who can see a sack-full of heroin, and it's just beyond their reach. The Psychopath will stop at nothing to fulfill there pathological needs.

Duty lies upon the average person to stop these derranged
individuals.
