BREAKING: Cyprus Requests 5 Billion Euro Loan from Russia! Spain Yield Above Critical 7%
Cyprus requests 5 billion euro loan from Moscow - Russia's finance minister

One week. Literally. After last Friday morning, speculation that Germany had yielded to Mario Monti and would allow an unconditional and IMF-free rescue of Spain and Italy while the seniority of the ESM was eliminated, sending the Spanish 10 Year yield to under 6.2%, the same security is now back over 7%, as Finland and Holland (or half of Europe's AAA-rated countries), and even Germany, made it quite clear, as we said all along, that stripping seniority of a piece of debt is far more complex than saying one wants to do it in a Memorandum of Understanding.

NICOSIA, Cyprus — Cypriot President Demetris Christofias expressed confidence that his government will win a loan from Russia on top of the European bailout requested last week.

"We do expect a positive reply," Christofias said Thursday in Nicosia, Cyprus. "We are still waiting for the reply."

This place is swarming with Russians and their money. When the planes land now - the 737's are full of British, but the 747's are the ones with Russians.

Lot of Russians buying property now in Cyprus plus you see advertisements on roadside for property all in Russian. The British are losing their influence here. The Germans never had any.

So no surprise at this news.

With all of the failed bailouts you would think that Cyprus would learn not to lie about what they actually need. They probably need upwards of 25 to 30 billion.

here is a thought, ALWAYS ASK FOR MORE THAN YOU NEED ASSHOLES.

It's the same here on the Costa del Sol. Russians love Estepona.

Putin and the Mayor of Moscow have homes on La Zagaletta - a wealthy urbanisation here.
