No, it's not. Scandinavia and US is top of the bill right now. Belgium sure has great stuff in its own style of beers, but few exel in that or try different styles. Struise and Alvinne are two of the few that dare to do other styles than the Belgian ales. Sure, a Trappist or something from Dolle Brouwers or Malheur still is quite tasty... But for new developments in brewing, and great brews in the different styles you're nowhere better than in Scandinavia and US.

Re: Favorite beers
damnit, feel like drinking again (just quit, again...lol). Good I've become such a snob over the years that in my recent visits to Dutchieland's best beershops I had a hard time finding stuff I liked or hadn't tried yet...lol. The top brews have become harder to come by recently, and have grown way more expensive over the years (beats wine prices). You'll really have to visit beer festivals for tasting the top brews...

haha, get some shipped to you. Totally worth it. It's pretty much a religious experience. Either because of the wicked good flavor, or because of it's 8.3 ABV content...

The glass is neither half-full nor half-empty. The glass is 2x as big as it needs to be.

Re: Favorite beers
Wow...some of these I have never even heard of...but they sound yummy!

I've been outta the circle for awhile.

As far as American brews, Sam Adams was a fav of mine. Lots of different flavors and seasonals. Some good, some not so good. The cranberry Lambic they put out at Christmas is pretty interesting.

Blue Moon brewery (small guys)is not too far from here, a lot of locals swear by it but I have never tried it.
