The Fish Symbol of Christianity: IXTHYS
Fish in Greek is IXTHYS (ichtùs).

Placed vertically, the letters of this word form an acrostic: Iesùs Christòs Theòu Uiòs Sotèr = Jesus Christ, Son of God, Saviour.

Acrostic is Greek word which means the first letter of every line or paragraph.

The fish is a widespread symbol of Christ, a motto and a compendium of the Christian faith.

Re: The Fish Symbol of Christianity: IXTHYS
The fish symbol is the vesica piscis, which, historically speaking, originally represented the bladder of a certain Mediterranean fish and was appropriated by the early Christians because Jesus was thought of as the 'fisher of souls.' The vesica piscis is the most potent geometrical construction in the universe. From it the cosmic blueprint governing the nature of physical and superphysical reality - humans, superstrings, etc - can be derived. For details, visit [link to www.smphillips.8m.com] and study the research articles posted there (pdf files require Adobe Acrobat Reader). You will find the vesica piscis is the generator of the outer and inner geometrical forms of the Tree of Life. Their polyhedral counterparts have been recently recognised and are currently under intensive study in order to unlock their information about the nature of matter.

Fish symbol is Pagan and does represent Dagon. Just like that Miter hat the Pope wears. Throw those symbols away.

Re: The Fish Symbol of Christianity: IXTHYS
the fish symbol is the sign of the "time", the age of pisces. the word fish is both singular and plural. the sign of the fish is two fish, and that is why scripture has jesus working a "miracle" and feeding the multitude with two fish. the feeding of the multitude with two fish is NOT to be taken literally, it just means that jesus was teaching the message of the piscean age. he was feeding the multitude with the new testament that represented the age of the sign of the fish.

on earth, as it is, in heaven.

christians mistakenly use one fish, they should be using two fish, the SIGN of the fish.

the miracle of jesus "feeding the multitude with two fish and five loaves of bread" represent teaching the meassage of the new age and teaching the five books of moses.

the five loaves of bread represent the five books of moses.

I always wondered why Christians use the fish as their symbol! You'd figure they'd use something a litrtle more relative, like asheep!

Or would that be too In Your Face of how the church really views its' worshippers!

Re: The Fish Symbol of Christianity: IXTHYS
xtians will be in for a rude awakening this yr. Truth is coming out, xtianity is nothing more but repackaged paganism.

Im surprise the OP hasnt done the necessary research. The fish stems from the DAGON fish god of the philistim. The greeks took it in turn and get their poseidon. And we all know the greek is the father of xtianity. Need i say more ?

Re: The Fish Symbol of Christianity: IXTHYS
You are all wrong, everyone of you.

It is not a symbol at all, it's a primitive compas. People of the "WAY" used to wear it arround their necks, that's where they got their name from. They did have a symbol though, their symbol was the pentacle.

Re: The Fish Symbol of Christianity: IXTHYS
ac 60915,

"jesus" hangs on the cross of the sun of God. the halo behind his head is the sun of God "crucified" on the solar cross.

during the age of pisces, the SIGN of the fish was the SIGN of the cross of the sun of God.

each of the 12 SIGNS of the zodiac is a DISC-iple of the sun DISC of God.

during the age of aquarius, the SIGN of the "baptizer" is the SIGN of the cross of the sun of God.

during the age of aquairus, the sun of God in the image of the "baptizer" will lead the 12 DISC-ples of the sun of God out of egypt.

"out of egypt" refers to the HORIZON".

during the age of aquarius, the sun of God in the image of the "baptizer" will lead the 12 DISC-iples of the sun of God out of the HORIZON of egypt.

on earth, as it is, in heaven.
as above, so below.

Re: The Fish Symbol of Christianity: IXTHYS
The fish was the symbol for Frigga, wife of Woden (Norse Mythology). Frigga is associalted with Aphrodite (greek) , Venus (roman), Isis (egyptian) - who wore the fish symbol on her head. The symbol pre-dates the egyptians though, coming from the phoenician/philistine cult of dagon. Dag is hebrew for fish, latin is pisces(so comes the astrology sybol). Pagans liked the fish as a fertility symbol because the fish can lay 100's or even 1000's of eggs at a time.

Friday was named in honor of Frigga, hence the Roman Catholics avoid eating red meat on this day and eat fish instead.

iota - chi - theta - upsilon - sigma spelss ichthys - menaing fish. the anagram of it (I think was already stated, but...) is Iesous Christos Theou Hulos Soter.

The biblical sign of the messiah is the menorah or lampstand (Rev 1 & 2) Rev 2:5 staes that the menorah would be removed if they(beleiver, readers) didn't repent. Maybe that is why so few people know what the biblical sign for the messiah really is...

"The fish is a widespread symbol of Christ, a motto and a compendium of the Christian faith."

So is the Lamb. The Shepherd leading his flock of sheep. The Lamb of God crucified on the cross. Lamb and Sheep symbology all over the place.

What this shows is that Constantine took a combination of prophets and their teachings and made one new Catholic (Universal) state religion.

at the dawn of the "age" of pisces, the sign of the fish became the sign of the "time".

every culture created their own "myths and symbolism" for the fish.

it was all because of a new age dawning.

The fish symbol is the symbol of the Philistinian god Dagon. Christianity adopted this pagan symbol as their own. Remember my Motto: Disguised Satanism is still Satanism, no matter if you dress it up in Christian clothes or not.

Flee the Fish!

Embrace Jesus!
