What kind of mental disorder do people have who choose to have a pet cat over a pet dog? | |

Hail the Feline! It's best to have both. They are here for a special purpose, their purring man. The purring. |

However, you have to give them credit for being willing to take care of a high-maintenance animal. Cat people, on the other hand, accept creatures the way they are, warts and all. People who adopt cats and then declaw them are really dog people who are too lazy to cater to a dog's MANY needs. |

The worst thing that ever happened to the dog is when people started treating them like pets. So my Bichon's should get a job? They don't have too many skills except for being exceptionally nice. In my experience, dog owners tend to be very social people who like to have constant affection from their pet. Cat people tend to be shy loner types. Obviously, results may vary. |

Not all dog owners.. the ones who use dogs for the purposes (the farmer with a dog who helps with the cattle or chases off yotes; the hunter whose dog assists with felling game, etc) but yeah most of the people who endlessly coddle and command their dogs in the streets and go 'Look, Fido can do 23 tricks now!' usually turn out to be clingy control freaks especially when it comes to relationships. Of all my friends, the ones who own cats tend to be more relaxed and tolerant and respectful of others' personal spaces. |
