Bankruptcies of Federally Backed Green Energy Companies Continue
The Obama administration's problems continue to mount because of its massive financial support of the so-called green industry. Perhaps the most well-known example of such boondoggles is the solar panel firm Solyndra, which went bankrupt last fall after a federal loan guarantee of $535 million. And there have been a string of other such clean energy company bankruptcies since then, at a huge waste of taxpayer money.

This week, yet another clean energy company heavily underwritten by federal loans, Abound Solar in Colorado, declared bankruptcy, leaving the taxpayers on the hook for $70 million.

According to Northern Colorado Business Report,

Abound Solar is estimating its liabilities amount to $100 million to $500 million, making its financial collapse one of Colorado's largest corporate bankruptcies in recent memory.

Abound last week announced it planned to seek bankruptcy but left unclear whether it would try to reorganize under Chapter 11 or file for Chapter 7. This week, in U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware, it clarified its intent.

It filed Chapter 7, meaning the company intends to halt its operations and dissolve.

And the problem with these massive federal loans supporting failed operations is not limited to solar projects. Nevada Geothermal Power, which has received $98.5 million in federal loan guarantees, is running into serious difficulties paying its bills after having operated at a loss for several years.

In a report issued for the period ending March 31, 2012, the firm's auditors stated:

I couldnt agree more. Its like its almost a deliberate thing our government is doing to ensure the collapse.

Its like these giant windmills that cost a million and a half to build and then God only knows how much to maintain over the next 15 years. When will a single one of them be able to produce a couple million in electricity? Do the math on all this green bullshit, in the name of global warming. How are they gonna cool down the 68 dormant volcanoes that have now erupted? Turn the windmills on them to cool them? Or how about all the dead fish from the warming waters?

Everything they have proposed and tryed has utterly failed, but they just keep spending. Then when a national disaster strikes they cant even perform or coordinate help for those affected by the disaster. Its kinda like creating this giant homeland security shit and TSA everywhere while we have a wide open border.

You know ive been saying how i dont think it all could get any more moronic!? But i have a feeling its about to with the president thinking he can sign international treaties that superceed our constitution against the advise of congress, our "watch dog"? I dont think things have been at this collossal scale of treasonous behavior of our government and still not a mention of impeachment.

So its easy to start thinking something collosally bad is just around the corner, you dont have to be a prophet to see it coming!

What a great way to kill any alternative energy. Make em all federally backed and then make em fail. Then everyone thinks "oh, it might not work out" and just keep the status quo.

Pretty sad.

Alternative energies?

I beg to differ.

It's too easy, too cheap.

^ This ^

Step 1: Punish businesses that are profitable and supply a desired product or service (see "Coal" and "Oil" for examples).

Step 2: Reward businesses that are not and will never be profitable with money stolen from Americans and successful businesses, shovel cash in until they move overseas and go bankrupt, leaving the Americans on the hook for all the debt.

Step 3: Send Joe Biden out to say something stupid that only the libtarded press can hear without breaking into laughter, like "Green shoots" when referring to companies in Step 2.

I don't think much of Obama.

While the particular companies may have been bad investments I'd rather see the government give emerging technology (I'm not talking about green energy per se)companies 600 million as I had see them give highly profitable oil and gas companies billions in taxpayer subsidies, while letting them pay no taxes.

Federal money has always been a driver of innovation through grants to students, universities, and other public and private entities. This financial support accounts for as much of our advancements as any privately funded "corporate" research.

My problem with this whole thing is that the government put too much money into just 2 companies. That money could have went so much further as much smaller grants.

Another issue is that that money spent would likely have been a success if not for the failed trade policy with China. It was Chinese solar panels that did in Solara. The renminbi pegged so cheaply against the dollar has turned US industry into a graveyard.

There is no energy on this Earth except for oil.

If we dont conquer the middle east, everyone will die.

That is the message that the NWO wants us to believe. If more and more people start calling for the develpment of renewable energy, then they will not have an excuse for war.
I dont mean everything I say to be literal. I just like to throw around ideas, and play devil's advocate.

I do not feel obliged to believe that the same God who has endowed us with sense, reason, and intellect has intended us to forgo their use.

It is deliberate because the use of green energy takes away the demand for US Dollars/Petrodollars worldwide.
So in order to support the U.S. Dollar they must make green energy fail.
The people want it, so they must put on a show that they are trying to implement it. By it's failure (on purpose) the goberments show (falsely) that green energy does not work and we must continue to use so called fossil fuels, thus supporting the purchase of Petrodollars and intern supporting the American Dollar while it is printed like embossed toilet paper.

Why do you think Nuclear Energy has now all of a sudden failed ? You guessed it..................to support the US Dollar. Dont act as if you're suprised !! damned

At the National Clean Energy Summit on August 30, Vice President Biden proudly announced that five companies which received seed-funding from the Department of Energy's Advanced Research Projects Agency-Energy (ARPA-E) are now raking in hundreds of millions from private investors all on their own.

"America is at its best when we innovate--and ARPA-E supports the very best of American innovation," Biden said at the summit. The five ARPA-E backed companies "illustrate how a small but strategic investment by the federal government can pay big dividends down the road and bring into market groundbreaking new technologies."
