You are NOT allowed to do that under any circumstance. The courts have ruled that the state has the requirement to force health codes that are not in your favor. If you choose to medicate yourself, even with a medical degree, you are no longer fit to care for yourself. Check the laws. Every state has the right to order state approved medical requirements. If you grow your own herbs and or medical plants, you are in violation of laws under the FDA. Since they can NOT control your use, you are denied the right to grow and use.

It is entirely lawful to grow non-scheduled herbs and medicinal plants. get on google. people and companies are lawfully and legally selling herbal tinctures and bulk medicinal herbs. Now entering into commerce with it is a different matter than having a backyard garden and makeing your own for your own consumption. As soon as you enter commerce with it all kinds of regulations apply.

Bottom line, here in west virginia, the state may or may not be able to force medical treatment on you. IDK. But it is entirely lawful for me to grow chammomile or forage yellow dock and nettle to make tinctures. Since I dont "practice medicine", engage in commerce or make medical/drug claims in commerce or published works, i'm good.

You people still don't understand how Employer based Health Insurance works. If your employer pays you $30,000 dollars a yr and also pays $10,000 in health benefits your effective salary is $40,000. What you don't realize is they get a 66% tax break on that $10,000. That means they get $6,600 of your wages subsidized by tax payers. If they just wanted to save money why offer you health insurance in the first place? It's offered in instead of wage increases. Saying if Obamacare passes I will cancel all of my employees insurance seems kind of stupid. Why wait, just cancel it now. Hell, why not drop everyone down to minimum wage? Sorry but your scare tactics don't add up in the real world.
