Good morning Astromut. Nice to see your Sky...

I was wondering...Have you seen the new Skyview coordinates?
Yes, they have new numbers and someone trolled my site today talking about how I should use a 'telescope' if I wanted to try to 'discredit' Skyview. Snicker.

I just happen to notice Neptune is above the horizon. It's a little close to the Moon though. Anyway you could sight in on Neptune?

Here are their numbers, just as they printed them,
00 09 29.32
-06 47 05.3
That's at time 2:15 here [link to www.youtube.com]

I just plotted that position. It's twice as close to Uranus as it is to Neptune. WTH? It just came over the horizon. Oh well. It should be close to Star HIP 792...

I'll have to wait till it gets much higher to see it, but yeah i'll have a look sometime before morning twilight.
 Quoting: Astromut

Thanks. I appreciate it.

I submitted an image from their last video to Astrometry.net and it failed to resolve. It has a square & arrow on the image. Do you think it would help to remove the square & arrow or not?

Based on the extraction image, i'd say yes; it is locking on the arrow. If after removing it still won't solve, then i'll take a crack at it with the offline version I have on my linux box. Unlike the online version, there's no mandatory cpu timeout.

Wow TBar, based on the new extraction image, I'm starting to think it's substantially faked. It looks like it locked onto quite a few stars this time, it should have worked. I'll give it a go tomorrow after I get home.

Thank you to you guys who have sorted this out : )

I'm sat watching your feed of the Nebula(or what-ever it may be)whilst listening to an old audio of the well of knowledge that unfolds from the mind of P.Manly-Hall - The talk I am listening to is 'Opening the Doors to the Invisable'.

If you tilt the screen back and forth you can make out two denser areas within the arms of what appears to be something spinning(view it with tilted screen) around a central point creating two conical/sickle shaped arms - Or have I read that incorrect and it is just how it appears at first,a kind of Bubble Nebula!?

Not sure how delayed your stream is, but earlier I had a bright star in there for focusing and fine tuning before slewing to the desired coordinates.

There's an inverted image on the same 'DARK STAR COMETH' video that the last image came from. I'm running that image now, it doesn't look like it's going to solve either. I'll post the link as soon as it's finished.

Another fail. What's Up With That? [link to nova.astrometry.net]

The Dark Star is supposed to be the large one on the bottom near center.

You have to make the image a negative (make it normal again) first; the solver doesn't know to lock onto the dark spots as stars, it automatically locks onto the bright points in the image.
