Here in a city in a minority majority county in Southern New Jersey we made it over a week with hardly any interpersonal problems. It was remarkable - much better than I expected, I'll admit. There were even several days of "Cash only" signs and pretty bare shelves and we still held up pretty well.

It's day 11 and there are still thousands without power here.

I think whether we could stretch into months depends on the time of year and the circumstances of the outage.

On day one, I'd have to get Bubba out of the freezer before he spoiled...

Never. People pull together and bygones are forgotten in tough times.

You will see whatever it is you choose to fear or dwell upon in your mind. I'll see the good, others may see the bad.

Also, I could write a book on the matter and provide documented references to how the good in people came out in these situations.
