it doesn't cover anything, it is not an insurance plan, it is a bill making having insurance compulsory, if you don't you get fined [or taxed]. it will be enforced by IRS using data from tax returns.it also has other things like taxing tanning booths. Obama said if this bill doesn't pass the united states would go bankrupt [the corporation that is]. The fines could be cheaper than insurance, so some will simply pay the fines, that's alot of money generated. I think this is all it was for.

Each State will set up an exchange which will consist of different plans competing for you money. You will have to check out each plan to see what it offers. Exchanges will not be set up until 2014.
