T Bar, what are your thoughts re the maunder minimum ? do you think the ensuing mini ice age was caused by the extended solar cycle and quad polar sun ? (as this cycle seems to be mimicing).

Maybe this is why it's getting hotter?

[link to en.wikipedia.org]

Could the "Modern Maximum" be the beginning of a "Great Maximum"?

During minimums and low sunspot activity Earth often experiences cold periods:
[link to www.nature.com]
This makes me think that since the number of sunspots keeps going up, cycle after cycle.. according to the linked image, the solar energy goes up which increases the heat on Earth, and all the other planets.

Maybe the modern maximum is actually the peak of a bigger cycle that we have no clue about.. maybe this isn't the peak and its going to go up more?

Maybe this is why Antarctica used to be tropical? Warmer planet at the time because of a bigger solar cycle.. perhaps the peak of a "Ancient Paleo Maximum", that along with continental drift.lol..

Hey, maybe this even explains the Expanding Earth Theory...
[link to www.youtube.com]
During the "Great Maximums" all the planets materials somehow expand, soak up some of the energy like a sponge? who knows.. not I, but I have fun imagining the possible.. or impossible?

However I could be totally wrong, most likely am. Accourding to this article, also linked above:
[link to wattsupwiththat.com]
We are headed for 50 years of Solar Minimum, and have a 10% chance of heading into another "Maunder Minimum". But ya never know.. maybe this is a small dip before the big jump..

Dipole-Quadrupole dynamics during magnetic field reversals

"In conclusion, we have used a simple method to extract the dipolar (antisymmetric) and quadrupolar (symmetric) components of the magnetic field in the VKS experiment. We have shown that this decomposition allows to investigate the morphology of the magnetic field during reversals, and to compare experimental results to the predictions of a recent model proposed in [11]. We have shown that the results of the VKS experiment are in very good agreement with these predictions:
- reversals are characterized by a strong transfer to the quadrupole when the dipole vanishes,
- the dipolar mode systematically displays an overshoot after each reversal,
- random reversals are asymmetric, i.e. involve two phases: a slow one triggered by turbulent fluctuations followed by a fast one mostly governed by the deterministic dynamics..."

When does the sun go quadrupole?
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 18267374

It will take months before the north polar magnetic field recovers from it's May reversal. If the south pole continues to maintain/increase it's strength then we will have a full bore quadrupole (two full strength poles of the same polarity).

Current trends indicate towards this happening. I recommend you see my post on page 2 with instructions on how to follow the Wilcox Solar Observatory updates regarding this situation! They are tracking the poles very closely and update their data about 3x a month!

Re: UPDATE: Quadrupole now looking unlikely. (Aug 2012)
So...if the quadrupole dealio keeps up and we have a full-scale quadrupole sun that lasts until the next reversal 11 years from now, what would prevent the sun from having an east-west pole orientation when it reverses next time?

I think that if the sun stayed quadrupole until the next reversal, there would be a 50/50 chance that it would end up east-west rather than north-south.

I am curious to understand what that would do to the solar system.

don't worry the earth will never flip its poles because nato and the world elites are geo engineering the earths atmosphere to make sure it stays this way forever, they really love the planet and the people the way they are so they'll make sure to keep us from evolving or shifting

I sitting here remembering, that it wasn't to many years ago, that they said the sun had flip its' poles, along with the planets flipping theirs, leading toward earth being the next one. Can't they keep their stories straight!

In my opening post I describe the difference between the shared polarity phenomenon during usual reversals, and the current situation.

For the current shared polarity situation to be merely transitional, the south pole is gonna have to start weakening. For the last year and a half it's been strengthening.

The Sun's magnetic field is behaving very strangely. I wonder what effects this will have on Earth's field?

not behaving strangely if one considers the impact of:

- flushing out low frequency energies

- balancing polarities

- transmuting balanced polarities with high frequency celestial and spiritual energies

- anchoring higher ratios of high frequency energies

the human body does the exact same thing during major phase shifts. the immune system must at least partially shut down or significantly weaken in order for the energies to flush out/balance/be anchored/transmute/shift/rebalance/...

everyone should go and get aeon fluxed (if they haven't already)!

whoever those scientists are claiming the current state of the sun's magnetic field also occured in the last couple hundred of years are full of fuckin shite.

Pole flip / Qaudrupole update:

The newest data from WSO has reduced the chances of a long term quadrupole scenario.

[link to i47.tinypic.com]

The above is a graph of unfiltered pole field strength measurements by WSO. Concern was aroused during 2011. The 2011 vernal equinox saw the Sun's north polar region weaken sufficiently to cross the polarity threshold in a convincing manner. That was fine and dandy.

However, the autumnal equinox saw the Sun's south polar region increase in strength. This caused the furor. Since the 2011 autumnal equinox there's been speculation about this strange behaviour as all waited to see what would happen next.

The new data has come in though, and as we steer into the 2012 autumnal equinox, the south has finally shown signs of weakening.

I would now say the chances of continued acute asymmetry are low. Chances of long term quadrupole are also now low. The south has begun to trend towards it's flip. The north continues to be well into it's flip and is impatiently waiting.

Here's the source data (mind you, the unfiltered data requires sufficient background competency to interpret)

Thanks!

OP,

What do you feel will happen to humans during this quadrupole pole arrangement? This has to affect our minds since our bodies are controlled by the Sun/Moon or Electric/Magnetic. Have you noticed any changes since this occurrence you posted about? Has anyone noticed magnets also changing?

Peace
