If this is true, it is fvcking amazing - forget the "implementation of practical long-distance quantum communication protocols" part - this means two distinct particles of matter can entangle themselves from the photons they emit.

Entanglement study makes a quantum leap

...physicists at the Ludwig-Maximilians-University in Munich said they had demonstrated that two atoms separated by a distance of about 65 feet could become entangled and trigger an alert to announce that they had done so.
++++++++++
While other experiments have successfully entangled atoms, photons and diamond crystals, this was the first to do so at a long distance and include a signal, or herald, to let scientists know that entanglement had been achieved.
++++++++++
The experiment involved the capture of two rubidium atoms in separate "atom traps" located in different rooms. The traps used lenses and lasers to position each atom and prompt it to emit a stream of photons, or packets of light. The photons were inherently entangled with the atoms that emitted them.

Really? Nobody thinks this is amazing?

many think that it is, but very few can understand what it means

yea, its amazing....its cool that they can actually prove it, unlike the wild speculation that ocurres in alot of quantum mechanics....

geezz this must be the night for it...hehehe

second time ive posted same vid tonight...

at approx 19.40sec he starts talking about generated magnetic field shared by two people enabling telepathy by photon emission from the brain...so not "communication" as we know it, but the same thought/idea in more than one place via quantum entanglment.

Spooky action at a distance.

I actually believe entangle particles are actually the same particle in 2 places at once. The idea of "distance" as we understand it is very limited by what we perceive and measure.

I am certain some time in the future someone will come up with a more accurate way of what distance really is. Perhaps it is like white light that we see. Only within the past few hundred years did we learn that it actually was a combination of multiple colors of light.

I don't know how this concept of distance will be seen in the future but I believe it will help us travel to distant stars in the future.
