Kombucha tea
Kombucha tea (pronounced kom-BOO-cha) is an ancient folk remedy from Asia whose history goes back beyond the birth of Christ. It is a refreshing beverage that has such a broad range of health benefits it almost seems to be the long-sought panacea for all human ills. Although it is not a panacea, its usefulness in maintaining health is especially significant today in dealing with metabolic diseases such as cancer, heart disease, HIV and other contemporary killers.

As with most folk medicines, extravagant claims have been made about “miraculous” cures attributed to Kombucha tea. Folk medicine has long been encumbered with claims of unproved powers, superstitions, anecdotal examples and spurious, questionable proofs of effectiveness. Educated people of a scientific orientation usually reject such claims and the remedies associated with them. However, Kombucha has been extensively studied by scientists, especially in the former USSR and in Germany, where it is sold in health food stores today. True to its reputation, it has been used successfully to treat some of the slightest as well as some of the gravest human health conditions.

I used to be a black person and was real unhappy with that. Then I found out about Kombucha. I started to drink 9 gallons of kombucha a day, and now I'm white as a dove. Thank you Kombucha.

Re: Kombucha tea
Isn't that odd. I just started drinking kombucha, and really like it. Almost no sugar, very much a cider-ike taste. My wife likes it too, and we're going to try brewing our own pretty soon. Enjoy.

Just wanted to point out that you must understand "folk"remedies from the point of view of the "folk" where it originated. Logic comes in many forms and the original people from any location on earth thought differently from the scientific American. For instance, in Alaska there once was a people that had 50+ words for snow, each with a significance particular to some event/situation/seasonal phenom/whatever. These people are commonly thought to have little knowledge, but the truth is that they had a "different" knowledge that pertained to, and was germaine to, there way of life. Much of this knowledge has been lost or left behind in lieu of more immediately profitable pursuits of power hungry monarchs. In fact, most of the knowledge once common, and pretty much all of the wisdom, has been lost because somebody felt they deserved what someone else had and took it away, but did not take the time to find out the basis behind that knowledge. Assumed authority has no place in the natural world. It lives alongside, is other than, true authority which comes from the spirit world. People must be forced/coerced/seduced/convinced in order to follow that way. They must live in fear and make decisions based in fear, rather like what is happening in America today.

I do not discount any claims pertaining to herbal or natural medicine. I have seen too much that, according to science, should not happen and could not possibly be proven. Neither do I adhere to the language of the modern world, using human resources, pandemics, universal drugs, and other concepts painted with so broad a brush. The individual is unique, individual situation, person, condition, or belief. Seasons change and bring new aspects of reality never seen quite exactly the same before. Life moves and becomes. It is important that we realize the impact of intentions and agendas and proactive action upon the world around us and take responsibility for what we do and say. This tea is a blessing upon our world, and the people from that part of the world where it originated. Use it with respect.

Re: Kombucha tea
Kombucha Tea is amazing! Tastes great and great for our health; how can we go wrong? I understand that the govt is getting ready to outlaw it, though, since it can be used instead of chemo or radiation therapy to cure cancer if the patient also decides to turn their diet'alkaline'. Who needs doctors or pharmacy companies anymore when we can get ourselves healthy all by ourselves? The govt doesn't like that; that's why they're trying to force us all to buy their health insurance. Fat chance of that!

"Recover from anything and start living in the top 1% of the healthiest people on the planet."

The Alkaline Diet - Fruit and Kombucha, so much confusion, and what is the truth. Dr Robert Young says that fruit can cause cancer and kombucha certainly isn't part of the alkaline diet. I and others have benefited greatly from Dr Robert Youngs protocol, but is it necessary to follow it 100% when there are many getting great health benefits from eating sweet fruit and drinking kombucha?

Dr Gabriel Cousins promotes Dr Robert Young's protocol, but not 100% because he also promotes the use of algae like spirulina and other such things in his book Rainbow Green Live Food Cuisine.

I have experienced excellent health results through drinking homemade strong kombucha tea and so have many people that I have known and given kombucha to over the years, so there must be more to it than this black and white picture.
