The most exotic looking beautiful women I've seen so far are from pakistan. They have this olive colored skin that most white women are dying to get. Literally! They've gone crazy! It not just causes cancer but also ages you faster. Your skin becomes leather like and you start looking 20 years older than your age. |

Quoting: Skin Suit or the pale redheads with freckles. being pale myself, the sun is not my friend. i just burn. I burn really bad..I've had some bad experiences when I was little.. My husband likes me pale, so it's staying. I was born a redhead and I'm Polish and Irish, so that's a double whammy. lol ***Earth was once considered to be flat. Anything is possible.*** |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 19393279 This is very dangerous and causes cancers Why are americans in particular so obsessed with looking "tan"?? I travel overseas and the fair skinned European women don't seem to care how fair they are in general. I have relatives who are>> I would go so far as to say.... "pathologically" obsessed with this tanning business... They slap iodine and baby oil on their bodies almost EVERYDAY Can this cause cancer over time? This just seems so dangerous to me I don't say anything for fear they would have a "fit" What is it with this tan business? I see so many tanning places around as well doing big business... Did no see one in the place I was in Europe NOT one... as long as they are getting enough cholesterol or able to make it then they will benefit immensely from the sun tan beds and the sun, as it will produce vitamin d3. this is fantastic at fighting cancers and keeping the immune system healthy. the only problem is the creams, they are probably carcinogens themselves. |

I think part of it is to get a base tan before going on vacation so when your out all day in the sun you don't burn the first hour and then have a crap vacation for the rest of the week. But, yeah, there are people who use it as a make-up type thing. If it makes them happy, it's their decision. What I really don't like is seeing mothers slathering cancer causing sun screen on their young children all of the time. |

I love the look of the fair skinned English women with a blush you can see to their cheeks. Met a girl from Sussex years ago and couldn't take my eyes off her. She looked much better than our American girls and the obsession with tanning wasn't even so bad back then. Plus she wasn't on a perpetual diet and tore into her food at lunch. I liked seeing that too. |

One of my relatives has already been diagnosed with a melanoma in the thigh had a large part removed and now a large scar in the upper thigh is obvious.... still in denial what caused this...uses iodine and baby oil almost everyday and sits in the sun daily |

I have olive skin and I tan easily in twenty minutes or less "with" sunblock. I don't lay out in the sun, I do gardening, hiking, other outdoor stuff. I'm vitamin d defecient so I need some sunshine, the morning sun is the best. |

Telling you all the truth here ; 3-5 minutes in the tanning bed every day only makes sense if you're inside all the time and you get a healthy glow. I do a few minutes in the morning, but I spray tan in the summer. Call that the rope-a-dope. Anonymous 1342725 |

I know of someone who has done this combo for years and had a softball size of tissue cut from their leg but still put on the concoction and lay in the sun. I had a teacher die at 55 of skin cancer. When I was in high school. She told the kids she was dying and the reason why. She said ; after years of applying iodine and baby oil on her skin ; she was finally diagnosed with cancer. She told us NOT to do this to our bodies and to buy into societies vile neuroses. To love yourself as you are..... She died the next year. True story. |
