Every single currency since the beginning of trade has eventually failed. SO, yes, the economy will fail, but remember that can will be kicked a very long way first.

Indeed it has been kicked for 40 years. I think it is all a confidence game and that its running out of time. Libor may be the straw that breaks the camels back.

I think it will be a global fail and I believe we are currently in it now. It could be months before a massive fail or even years or maybe even 50 years? The system will eventually be replaced by something greed proof. Until then we just don't know what it is but I am sure the people outside this universe will make sure it works out accordingly.

Just about everything ends eventually. But then some things don't really end, they evolve into something else instead.

I used to think it was plain as day, that people would see all of the corruprion and change the system. Alas, it appears that the media has done a great job at distracting people from things that have a major impact on their lives. If people really paid attention to what is going on, and all the corruption that is running rampant through the system, they might actually take action. However, they are distracted with Snooki, the Kardashians, Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes, etc. Just like Rome, with their bread and circuses to distract the masses, until the whole system collapsed. It's truly sad that people just don't give a shit about how all of this is going to impact them in the long run.

It won't collapse as long as it is profitable for those who are really in control.

We'll all be dead before a catastrophic crash happens. So many conspiracies rely on the fact that the economy is manipulated and if it really is then why would it ever crash? If TPTB really wanted it to crash it already would have happened.

I'm sure economy won't collapse without an "external" event, like a big natural disaster or World War 3.

as with all failing empires it takes a 3 pronged event to decend into oblivian, for example, war, weather, and political corruption.

Re: How many think that the economy won't collapse?
Our wealth is not backed by anything anymore it is all electronic. We will not see it crash unless tptb want it to crash. It is already proven with our current GDP it is impossible for us to even make a dent in our current debt. That isn't even including the debt we have in loans that are currently out there. (US is what I'm talking about )

something else will happen first, like a massive X class flare that takes down the worldwide grids. They'll use that as an opportunity to restart the game.

Re: How many think that the economy won't collapse?
Personally, I don't think it will collapse, my reasoning is that it will send far too many countries into an era of civil strife, which usually ends up with the leadership of said countries being taken behind the steel sheds and gunshots heard..

In other words another economic collapse will put the establishment necks on the block and I can not see that happening..

I have long advocated that unless they find a new source of wealth that will take up the slack in the jobs markets and create a positive spin their only other real option is some kind of massive conflict that will allow the establishment to take direct control of their countries peoples and economy..

Besides it is a great way to redirect the building anger elsewhere.. In my opinion it doesn't matter the nations, US, China, Russia, Iran all are prone to exactly the same forces are in play..

But somehow I can not see a new source or wealth that will take the slack out of the jobs market and take us off this negative spiral.. which leaves only one avenue left.. on that analysis I hope I am wrong and to be honest I would rather be branded the village idiot than feel my assumptions of where we are heading are correct.

Well it certainly cannot sustain on this course. Math is math no matter how they spin it, History repeats no matter how much they do not want it to. When people start pulling money out of the banks and for the first time get a taste of what fractional reserve banking really is, watch out cause its gonna get crazy!
