Madrid in flames. Indignant Spaniards come out in defense of themselves | |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 19195341 United States 07/11/2012 10:40 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | This is what happens when the socialists run out of other people's money. All these Spaniards got used to not working and getting paid anyway. Margret Thatcher hit the nail right on the head when she said "The trouble with socialism is that sooner or later you run out of other people's money". Spain ran out of other people's money. Now they have to adjust to working for a living. It is unlikely that they will be any more successful at that than the Greeks have been. More likely, they will follow the Greeks down the path of begging for hand-outs. Quoting: Epic Beard Guy Just exactly what Americas useless eaters are facing soon. We are facing the same thing. How many on food stamps ? Disability ? unemployment ? We are not far behind. The only question left is if we will get off our asses or go down with the ship. |

One of the most important aspects of conspiracy theories is being able to discern when there isn't one. Oh yeah, like you'd understand anyway. Where are we going and why am I in this handbasket?. . .J. Handy |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 19339311 Australia 07/11/2012 11:11 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | The floating currency rebalance of trade is an interesting argument to be making as a reason to keep Germany in the euro. Historically high currencies did affect national or regional competitiveness. That was because the owners of those currencies actively defended their means of production by various strategies: subsidies, tariffs, cartels, secret processes. Today the secret hegemony of satanic bankers levels out and directs the world economy, so such measures are effectively prohibited. Were this hegemony to disappear, Germany could retain her wealth and productivity relative to the rest of europe and the world through regulation of trade as previously. However, these guys are in control of Germany as well for now, and they will not allow it. So: Germany departs (with banker controlled financials) -> spiked Deutchmark, German economy gets killed dead realfast, industrial flight, productivity evaporates, not a good idea. Germany departs (strict trading controls, border lockdown, genuinely backed German currency, industry pinned down/subsidised/nationalised even), this brings on an inevitable global financial collapse and things are going to suck for German industry but here's where it gets interesting: after the big breakup and end of the fiat con the rest of the west will be in no position to compete (finances ruined, currencies non-functional, with fading and decadent culture), the east will continue to produce and will be the real challenge but they will now focus first on their own serious problems. So the key will be if Germany can retain industrial integrity and produce what will not be available from anywhere else _at any price_. Then the world _will_ pay in deutchmarks for German products, (actually in effect they will pay with commodities and east-asian manufactures, old style non-fiat trading). |

Spanish graduates working at hotels all over Europe. 65 billions of cuts to pay German and French banks. I don't know of any person in Spain that would say not to a job just now doing anything and you think they are lazy. Just keep an eye on Spain this summer swillhtf mate. We would not just roll over trust me. don't forget their VAT (sales tax) increased to 21%. That alone is reason enough to start hanging politicians from the nearest tree. |

You ever been to Germany for an extended amount of time? Everyone talks about welfare state here. I give the example of Kindergeld? I ain't taking for the Spanish either tho. They do save though and aren't really frivolous with their money. They don't run a super huge military as percentage of their GDP. They are very ecxacting in a lot of ways though. Just walk through a "ghetto" in Weisbaden, Mainz, or Frankfurt at night. Big difference. |
