But yes, Africa really extends through russia into Asia if were going by land mass. The only thing that disconnected the lands was the suez canal, done purposely to cut Africa off from the rest of the world and give europeans a short cut through the red sea instead of going all the way around through the straits of gilbratar. That single passage(straits of gilbratar) is the reason Egypt dominated the world for so long because there was one way in & one way out.
