Worth remember that there have been 9 flares bigger than this one during this solar cycle and there was nothing to worry about on earth from any of those.
Quoting: Anonymous Coward 7546576 most of those flares were not earth directed. the ones that were, barley were directed at earth. most of you may think all you get from most cme and flares is pretty boring aurora but skin cancer is the worst thing people in high latitudes have to worry about with strong earth directed flares and cme. if the strongest x flare to come from this solar cycle X6.9 flare were earth directed it would have caused us to go back to the stone age.
