Re: U.S. declares drought-stricken states largest natural disaster area ever!!
The end of June marked a tense Pluto and Uranus square which foretold tensions and accidents. Astrologers around the world warned of high profile break ups and nationwide news that would capture our attention and it sure did with weather chaos holding the United States in tense grip. Major flooding of the Century in Duluth Minnesota and record breaking fires in Colorado burning down hundreds of homes highlighted a fire and water prophecy that brought us into July.

This will go down as the forth of July tension of fire and water disrupting our lives.

In the Tarot Arcana we have card # 20 which is Judgement and the symbol of FIRE trine. Its Hebrew association is the letter Shin for "tooth"

Then there is card # 12 which is the Hanged Man and the symbol of WATER trine. Its Hebrew association is the letter Mem for "water"

The year 2012 featured a frightening aspect of Fire and Water which forms the alchemical marriage and the two trines of the Star of David. Male and Female powers combined.

One marriage that fulfilled or failed this aspect was Katie Holmes and Tom Cruise announcing their divorce. Scientology was rumored to play a part of Katies dissatisfaction because she is the one that filed. The Mother figure is angry and natures wrath is testament.

It seemed that the United States was under intense pressure from both elements with the Duluth flooding and more than 100 million dollars worth Northland infrastructure flooding.. You have the East coast shoreline rising and the 1,200 records broken this year for triple digit temperatures in 25 states. In Colorado Springs over 350 homes were lost in a foothills forest fire. Water and storm even knocked power lines down in Maryland, Washington DC and Virginia leaving millions without power and air conditioning.

What comes to mind is a Revelation verse

Revelation 16: 8,9 , And the fourth one poured out his bowl upon the sun, and to the sun it was granted to scorch the men with fire. And the men were scorched with great heat, but they blasphemed the name of God who has the authority over these plagues and they did not repent so as to give glory to him.

We also have what is considered the third Mayan Prophecy of heat wave and climate chaos blanketing the world and being part of the transition and upheaval as we are now in the year of the infamous December 21, 2012 approaching and the ending of this age according the the Mayan calendar.

Is this the stirrings of Apocalypse? I wish you safety and peace during this stressful summer. I am back from vacation right now after being the wilderness doing my meditations and will be getting back to responding to my inbox.

-Apollo

fresh water is hard to get
how many wells have you owned?
shallow wells get ground water
extremely deep will be in the nat. gas/oil well range

and by the way, most depression well were 20-40 foot hand dug ones

flooding the desert could have a multitude of bad things happen. first destroy the land to to excessive salt
how much water do you thing it would take before it stopped soaking in? lots then the desert becomes subject to tides, and with the way beaches behave, could result in a totally different topagraphy, possibly a giant salty mud pit from the tidal agitation. then the shear weight of the water on top of strata that has never carried that kind of weight before could cause seismic instability. the changing of a hot dry area to a watershed will also probably completely change weather patterns

if we could seed clouds and make it rain any time we wanted, don't you think that the farmers would be buying flight time as we speak?

Make sense to me now, I didn't know they were going dry.

Biblically we can see that God punishes "Kings" for their sins, and that people will suffer as a result of it. A good example of this is when King David did the censes on the Israelites, which resulted in the death of 70,000 people.

I'm not going to say this is indeed the reason that drought and the super derecho storm happened, but I do think its very interesting to note that if we look at Obama and his administration's actions prior to these events happening, Obama came out in support of Gay Marriage around May 9th.
And around May 21st The Catholic Church filed lawsuit with the support of Christian Evangelists, Mormons and jewish people - against the Obama administration for its attack on religious freedom and rights. Dolan has tried to talk with Obama for some time but there is never any response from the administration:

“We have tried negotiation with the Administration and legislation with the Congress – and we’ll keep at it – but there's still no fix,” said Cardinal Dolan, who is the president of the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops.

“Time is running out, and our valuable ministries and fundamental rights hang in the balance, so we have to resort to the courts now,” he explained in a May 21 statement.

Just sayin... something to think about...

I don't think you can flood death valley with sea water and get either evaporation, or a fresh water table for irrigation. Seems like a desert on the east side of the nist of existing baja inlet.

But the panama canal is relevant to the comment about the Mississippi river. The canal and river have supported millions of transits by sea vessels. Bigger bang for the buck than for irrigation, which as mentioned by others also requires power and infrastructure even if you have the water.

a lateral canal set of canals thru the midwest would possibly be useful, and allow for some fresh water transfer

Would not fly if you are thinking of taking it from the Ohio/Mississippi/Missouri rivers. Lots of coal, grain, oil, etc moves through these rivers and they are constantly dredging them, even before the drought. Theoretically I guess you could take it from it from the great lakes, but you'll have a lot of angry natives when they lose their lakefront infrastructure. Docks, beaches, etc.

Wells to the aquifiers are how it is done. This was one of the purported reasons the keystone pipeline was blocked.

Well... since King David of Israel lived much earlier than that of the scotts, I find this very hard to believe, especially when there is archeological evidence in support of him and other evidences of kings after him such as with King Hezekiah's Tunnel [link to en.wikipedia.org]
where his tunnel still exists today and these are just a couple evidences among hundreds Biblical of proofs in Israel... Did you know that the Dead Sea scrolls can be viewed online now???:

Evidence of Canaanite Jewish Rituals in Reign of King David
An archaeologist finds spectacular evidence confirming the reign of King David and that non-jewish people believed in one Creator.
Israel National News – May 8, 2012
A Hebrew University archaeologist has uncovered spectacular evidence confirming the reign of King David and that non-jewish people believed in one Creator. Architecture that was uncovered pre-dates the First Temple built by King Solomon.

Prof. Yosef Garfinkel announced on Tuesday the discovery of objects found in the ruins called Khirbet Qeiyafa, a fortified border city in the Kingdom of Judah adjacent to the Valley of Elah, less than 20 miles southwest of Jerusalem and half five miles west of Gush Etzion.

“This is the first time that archaeologists uncovered a fortified city in Judah from the time of King David,” according to Prof. Garfinkel. “Even in Jerusalem we do not have a clear fortified city from his period. Thus, various suggestions that completely deny the biblical tradition regarding King David and argue that he was a mythological figure, or just a leader of a small tribe, are now shown to be wrong.

Parts of the structures, such as the doors, help explain obscure technical terms in the description of Solomon’s palace as described in the First Book of Kings 6.

“For the first time in history, we have actual objects from the time of David, which can be related to monuments described in the Bible,” the archaeologist said. [link to www.israelnationalnews.com]

It really is a shame for all the farmers. You have to remember it's going to affect all of us with rising prices if we lose 30% of the corn crop
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 10500683

Then take into consideration our futures contracts with other countries which buy up our corn and wheat. Obama wont have the balls to say no and will honor those contracts which will lead to MASSIVE price jumps to wheat and corn, and wheat and corn are used in a LOT of stuff people.

Even Russia had to cancel a ton of their futures contracts for the same problems we have now, but Russia actually has someone with a spine.

From the Anonymous Astrophysicist who used to post on GLP:

quote:

"It will begin with an obvious failure of the main infrastructures such as electrical grids, crops, satellite communications and cellular phones by mid summer. By early fall it will be hotter than any normal summer. This summer will be extremely hot in both hemispheres, relatively speaking. By late fall solar radiation storms will be depleting the atmosphere and making many animals and people sick. Most trees will die in the mid summer, as their leaves yellow and fall off. By the middle of winter it will be hotter than any normal summer in most locations and we will experience solar radiation events previously unseen in human history, along with a total extinction of most species and a loss of the atmosphere to the extent that it makes surface living impossible."

I read an interesting report today about how this will affect the meat supply chain. Basically, lots of dairy cows are being brought to slaughter. Dairy will go up soon. Beef will be cheaper for the next 6 months, but the ammount of beef being put on feed is down, so expect prices to go up significantly next year. Pork prices at the store wont be affected based on the way those animals are fed out. Didnt understand all the details but it was a reasonable argument.

Many row crop farmers have insurance. For those that don't they are either self insured (the big boys, who also get millions in reccuring payments) -OR- the small guys who might get wiped out by this. But unlike meat and dairy operations, it is relatively easy for the big boys to fill in for the guys who go out of business this year.

As far as the comments about the bankers, politicians, etc. 80% of the USDA budget pays for food stamps. There are songs on youtube about my EBT. 20% of the USDA budget is for production.

Agree up til the statement that pork prices won't be affected. Hogs are often fed a soybean based meal. Soybeans are over 15.00 a bushel right now.

Combine that with supply and demand. If beef is too high, people will turn to pork and chicken. More demand, less supply, higher prices. For the final nail in the coffin, chickens also eat a soy based meal, or pellets.

Higher everything. Meat, dairy, eggs, and anything that uses them. Which is a large percentage of grocery items in some form or another.

If you can get butter or meat on sale now, it's a good time to stock up.

The real problem comes when 90% of the farms are controlled by a couple of corporations.

Isn't there some executive orders about the powers the president has if the united states as a whole were a disaster area?

I don't know enough about what orders exist but they can be scary I bet.

I agree. It is horribly dry here in Northwest Indiana. We have not had any measurable rain for weeks.
